Guest Bone Crusher Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Anyone into portable gaming such as the DS, 3DS, PSP, and PSV (PS Vita) in addition to iOS and Android devices? Nintendo just cut the price of the 3DS from $249.99 to $169.99 effective August 11th. I am planning on getting a PSV but that 3DS price cut gave me pause because the end of dedicated gaming devices seem like they are getting closer these days. Anyone play their games on their iOS or Android devices? I do play quite a few games on the iPhone and iPad myself and I will share my thoughts on gaming on such devices. I'm an arcade nut myself and it is awesome to see many good arcade games on the iPhone/iPad. Street Fighter IV does pretty well on the iPhone and SNK Playmore just recently released King of Fighters-i for the iPhone and I really love that KOF game on the iPhone. It seems like fighting games have transitioned to the phones and tablets better than I expected. I have downloaded a lot of SEGA and Namco games onto my iPhone and iPad. Super Monkey Ball, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Racing, and some titles that were popular on the SEGA Genesis. As for Namco, I have downloaded a lot of Pac-Man games, Time Crisis, Pole Position (pretty awesome), and other Namco titles. I have many titles from Electronic Arts and some of the finest are Clue and the Sim City games...I have more but I am only looking at my iPhone at the moment. Gameloft seems to be another company that is big time on the phones and tablets. I have Let's Golf 2 and it is a decent one in addition to a few other such games. And yes I do have all three Angry Birds games as well. That was quite awesome and I liked the Crazy Penguin catapult games. What's on your phone and/or tablets these days?
Guest nakedmolerat Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I have a bunch of games, but there's only a few that have really stuck for me on my iPhone/iPad. I tend to get them, play them for a while, and then never play them again. Makes me happy they are only a buck or two. The big hitters: iPhone All the Angry Birds; Rio is my favorite. Feed Me Oil- very fun puzzler Words with Friends NBA Jam- pretty awesome. Nostalgic for sure. iPad Board game central. Monopoly is awesome with tabletop mode. Life, Risk, Scrabble (with the iphones as tile racks), connect 4, Snakes and Ladders for the kiddos. Plants vs Zombies Land-a-Panda- pretty fun game where you shoot a Panda across the screen through a series of cannons. Tiger Woods
