Former Oregon tight end to play his 9th year of college football next year. Spent 7 years at Oregon, which is an absurdly long college career by itself, before transferring to Miami last year. 

Played for Mark Helfrich. Same high school class as Justin Herbert. A real life Van Wilder.

I met this guy a few times when he was a teen (I dated his friend’s mom).   Makes me feel old as shit.

Sports Illustrated is gone.  It’s been more than two decades since I looked at one but in the 60s and 70s I loved it.  Post your favorite cover if you can.

Before the Internet entertainment:

my brother and I had stacks of sports illustrated magazines we would determine the best magazine covers by vote.  Periodically We would each vote for 10 magazine covers, 10 points for number one, nine points for number two etc.. I used to ensure I would win by lowballing his favorites. He was four years younger, so it took him a little while to catch onto what I was doing.

I went to both the Ralph Miller AND Jim Anderson basketball camps at OSU in 88-90.  Words cannot express how stoked I was to see Gary on the cover.  Named my dog after him 20 years later.
