D2 Art U Eliminates All Athletic Teams

The Academy of Art University in San Francisco (colloquially referred to as Art U) announced today it is eliminating its entire Athletics Department.

The Urban Knights began competing in the Division 2 PacWest Conference in 2009. Art U fielded 5 men's teams and 8 women's teams.

The PacWest Conference consists of California and Hawaii D2 programs. Other programs in the PacWest still include Azusa Pacific; Biola; Chaminade-Honolulu; Fresno Pacific; Hawaii Pacific; University of Hawaii-Hilo; Point Loma Nazarene; and others.
