Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has fired more than a hundred employees working for the U.S. government’s cybersecurity agency CISA, including “red team” staffers, two people affected by the layoffs told TechCrunch.

The people, who asked not to be named, said affected employees were axed immediately when their network access was revoked with no prior warning.

The layoffs, which happened in late February and early March, are the latest round of staff cuts to hit the federal cybersecurity agency since the start of the Trump administration.

CISA spokesperson Tess Hyre declined to comment on the latest round of job cuts affecting the agency and wouldn’t say how many employees had been affected. Hyre told TechCrunch that CISA’s red team “remains operational” but said the agency is “reviewing all contracts to ensure that they align with the priorities of the new administration.”

One of the people affected told TechCrunch that CISA red team employees, who simulate real-world attacks to identify security weaknesses in networks before attackers do, were affected by the DOGE-enforced cuts.

Another person affected by the layoffs, who asked to remain anonymous due to fear of government retaliation, told TechCrunch that laid-off employees also include staffers who worked for CISA’s Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT), which is responsible for penetration testing and vulnerability management of networks belonging to U.S. federal government departments and agencies.

I'm just amazed that people think the absentee CEO who's MIA while Tesla stock shits the bed and who has overseen an 80% loss in advertising revenue since his acquisition of Twitter is somehow a good choice to oversee this tick's ass chainsaw massacre.

Conventional wisdom is he's a solid CEO for start-ups, but shit when it comes to running established businesses.

You left out the part where he is attempting to get a $56 billion pay package from a company that he spends little time running and who's past success is largely due to government handouts, policies, and easy money...

National security you fuckwit.

That dude posts like a teenager/unemployed 20-something who lives on Alt-Right forums. Nothing but rage baity facebook/YouTube/Instagram comment material. I miss when those dudes were just flat Earth truthers. At least they were funny.

Anyways this is exactly the type of "we should run the country like a business" CEO bullshit you get with people like Musk. Some of them are good rah-rah guys and some are solid at big picture stuff but most of them don't actually know how the middle management/system management stuff works because they're disconnected and surrounded by yes-men.

Full disclosure - I was short Tesla from 2015 to 2020 and got my ass handed to me to the point that I swore off shorting it ever again.  Some names you just have to do that with.  However, we did a s ton of research on Elon, hired PI's to track him and his dumb ass brother - they both have "issues".  I'm going to leave it at that because Elon is a crazy mofo and went after another guy I know who was short the stock, was asking questions Elon didn't like, and Elon tried to get the guy fired, sued him, and made his life a living hell.

Normally that type of reaction by a CEO will get me to press the short like no other, and I did, but the fed's easy money in 2020 and the government's give-aways under Trump 2x and then Biden's death knell in March 2021 which caused all of the inflation we've dealt with since then caused me to fold like a cheap fkn tent - thankfully.  That stupid "inflation reduction act" made it even worse and Elon richer - dumb liberals were the ones who enriched his stupid ass.

^^^This is a portrait of Musk Derangement Syndrome, a dire complication of Trump Derangement Syndrome^^^

Put another way, you actively tried to reduce tax revenue to the Treasury Dept. by bankrupting an American corporation and killing taxpaying jobs.

In your next breath, you'll howl bloody murder about the tax revenue you tried to kill is now being spent more efficiently.

That fact that this irony is going is to go over all of your empty heads makes even more rich.

P.S. I love when someone who is too stupid to invest from an entity in a non reporting state complains about facing consequences for his public investments.

do you know what "short" means

Wouldn't that be investing against Elon and not with Elon?
