Thirdly, if I meet a friend for lunch or beers, who makes half as much or less than I do, I usually pick up the damn check. Not in 982 when Erik the Red was exiled from Iceland and ended up in Greenland. Iceland didn’t become part of Norway until the 13th century. Quote

It was in the 1600s when Denmark-Norway re-established sovereignty and created settlements in Greenland. In between Greenland was inhabited strictly by the Inuits but still was claimed by Denmark-Norway going back to the formation of the union in the 14th century. That lasted until 1814. 1 Quote

Edit...after a bit more thought there is a whole lot more to it. The banana wars we caused were stirred up by our very own industrial military media complex. The public was not informed or served well by media Things are still the same!! Quote

Trump is trolling..agaon. .we will just end up with a good deal for a new military base. They emptied their prisons and assulums...pretty insulting if you ask me. Many of our friends make have WAY more money than we do. It would be an insult for them to always pick up the check. Quote
FresnoFacts Posted March 14 Posted March 14 The leaders of Greenland's 5 largest political parties issued a joint statement pushing back against Trump's annexation comments. The President of the United States has again reiterated the desire for the annexation and control of Greenland at a meeting with the Secretary-General of NATO on March 13, 2025. In this context, the Presidents of all the parties elected to Inatsisartut – Demokraatite, Naleraq, Inuit Ataqatigiit, Siumut and Atassut – have the following opinion: "We - all party chairmen - cannot accept the repeated statements on annexation and control of Greenland. We, as party chairmen, find this conduct unacceptable to friends and allies in a defence alliance. We, as the leaders of all parties in Inatsisartut in Greenland, must emphasize that Greenland continues the work for Greenland, which is already going on through diplomatic channels in accordance with international laws and regulations. We are all behind this effort and strongly distance ourselves from attempts at the creation of discord. Greenland is one country that wants everyone to be behind it.” Insuarnersumik / With kind regards Jens Frederik Nielsen, Democratite Pele Broberg, Naleraq Múte B. Egede, Inuit Ataqatigiit Vivian Motzfeldt, Siumut Aqqalu C. Jeremiah, Atassut https://naalakkersuisut.gl/Nyheder/2025/03/1403_udtalelse?sc_lang=da Quote
CoachKenFTW Posted March 14 Posted March 14 The democrats on their back foot, this cannot be denied. Progress on Peace in Eastern Europe, and Trump's economic vision have replaced sausage parties in women's locker rooms in the headlines. Quote
