Strategic command 1956 is awesome. It shows the B36 inside and out with plenty of footage of it flying.
B47 is also show inside and out.

I just fast forward and watch the bomber footage. There is a good 45 minutes or more of amazing footage

On the threshold of space. 1956.

Film with help of the Pentagon. Shows early test and altitude flights with balloons. If you are a historian it’s a must.

They Shall Not Grow Old by Peter Jackson was really good although truth be told I only needed to watch it once. It does such a good job of painting the picture of how horrific WW1 was. It's all real footage as told by people who lived it.

My grandfather used to watch a lot of the old WW2 movies like Tota Tora Tora , Cross of Iron, Bridge on the River Kwai

Tora Tora Tora and River Kwai won academy awards, those are just great films.

My old time favorite is The Big Red One.  I love that friggin movie.  Lee Marvin was made to play a military sergeant.  Plus Luke Skywalker!

My grandfather loved Bridge on the river kwai.  He was also a big fan of Patton when it came out.  He would swear up and down though that Patton didn't save them (He was in the 101st at the end of the bulge)

Watched that on a transatlantic flight a few years back. Solid.

The original Midway is my favorite.

My maternal grandfather flew PBYs in the Pacific theater on ASW patrol. One of my big rubs with the "new" Midway was the complete omission of the role of PBYs in reconnoitering and finding for the Japanese fleet.

Mine too.  Tora Tora Tora is good too, but Midway is better.

Also, have you ever noticed how much the OG Star Wars X wing assault on the Death Star copied it?

The way the dialogue is handled over the radios definitely makes me think it was inspired by Midway.
