sjsbuff Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Big Congrats, WYO... It took us way too long to, but SJSU now R2 (yay?!). Unlike SUDS, for example, we've had no UC's that would cooperate with us to develop joint doctoral programs, although UCSC, thankfully, is now in the mix. We have $83MM in research spending (and rising), but due to a dearth of joint programs, only 20 graduates. And just to be perfectly clear, Kal can go to EFFING HELL with their attitude (and COMPLETE lack of cooperation in this regard). Not stating this as fact, but, IIRC, UCSD has been waaaaaaaaay more cooperative with SUDS with this sort of thing... 1 2 Quote

UCSD owes much of it's success to the help it got from SDSU in their early years. Hence, the favor was returned. 1 Quote

Soon to be joined by Boise… Now, the university is “just a hair’s breadth away” from reaching R1, Tromp said Wednesday. The baseline metrics for Carengie’s highest research classification are $50 million in annual expenditures on research and development and 70 doctorate degrees awarded each year. Boise State has reached the spending threshold and is just six short of the degree requirement. 1 Quote

Smithy Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I think most of the R2s have no problem with the research money requirement, but getting the 70 doctorial is the mountain to climb without outside help. For SDSU to achieve that goal, within our state's rules, is triple the achievement to say the least. Especially from a broke California, a subpar State leadership and a archaic Master Plan that needs to be put into a dumpster. I say bravo for the Aztecs winning one for the CSU's for once. 2 Quote

Warbow Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Maybe now they can start researching why Josh Allen, as great as he is, has never been to a Superbowl? 1 Quote
