Akkula Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Republicans that the rubes decided to put a twice impeached felon in charge of the federal government who already tried to usurp power. He has full pardon power and absolute immunity for official acts. Dismantling federal agencies seems to be an "official act." Musk appears to be illegally accessing and taking a hatchet to a of internal government systems that may not be able to be fixed once he sabotages them. Musk is acting illegally and accessing secure and secret systems...against the law. But he knows that Trump will pardon him as long as he carries out Trump's illegal plans. We are essentially watching the Nixon henchmen ransack the Watergate hotel in plain view, live and in living color. Republicans in congress. Don't care. The courts don't care. How many unconstitutional orders has Trump already issued, like ignoring the 14th amendment? How many laws has he already ignored by dismissing IGs, etc? How many court orders has he already violated that say he cannot cut funding to 22 states? Look, when a felon breaks the law and there is no consequences then what do we have? We can scream about the law and the constitution but if it is just ignored and the congress and courts don't care. Don't we really just have a coup? Donald Trump right now is to put out silly tariffs, gaza policies, and muse on aircraft crashes. He is the clown sent out to distract and entertain while Musk takes his hatchet to the federal government illegally. 2 1 Quote
CoachKenFTW Posted February 5 Posted February 5 You voted for a woman in the presidential elections who kept top secret information on a server that was less secure than yahoo mail. Then you voted for a man whose main motivation to hold office was a get out of prison card for his scumbag family members. Reap what you sow. 5 3 Quote

Akkula Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I think the real question is what kind of malware/backdoors/spyware could Elon install in these super secure government systems? I mean, they are probably going to get slapped down by the courts but what type of commercial or political advantage/kompromat could he currently have access to? What type of data mining capabilities is he installing so he can mine through that data to embarrass future governments or administrations or political/commercial opponents? With full intent. Trump and Musk are breaking various federal privacy laws. They are covered by the power of absolute immunity and the pardon power. If the court tells them to STOP, do they listen? Do they have to? 2 1 1 Quote

There are people whose brains are so rotted by disinformation, misinformation, white supremacy and whataboutism and they LOVE Trump so much. They are pretty much hopeless. Everything Trump does is GOLDEN! They are kind of like the horde of zombies in the zombie movie. How often has a zombie been rehabilitated? Then you have the few idiots with serious character flaws in the zombie movie who are always doing stupid irrational shit, not paying attention, and putting themselves in danger. The clueless morons who put everyone at risk. That is the rest of the Trump coalition. 1 1 Quote

Akkula Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Oh, look. The Trump meme team has shown up. In our zombie move they play the role of the mad scientist doing grotesque experiments who lost the plot and all ethics. They are very good at justifying the complicity because they can get the ends to justify the means for them personally. Quote

FresnoFacts Posted February 5 Posted February 5 The NY Times has an opinion piece today saying this is not a coup but a "state capture" by the wealthy. The opinion writer compares it to what happened in South Africa. Unfortunately this is paywalled. But there are copies and excerpts floating around today. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/05/opinion/elon-musk-donald-trump-government.html Quote
