Exclusive: Saudi Arabia, UAE seen as possible venues for Trump-Putin summit, two Russian sources say

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are seen by Russia as possible venues for a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, two Russian sources with knowledge of the discussions told Reuters.
Trump has said he will end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible and said he is ready to meet with Putin. Putin congratulated Trump on his election and stated he is ready to meet Trump to discuss Ukraine and energy.

Moscow is considering Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as potential venues for future talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, Reuters reported Monday, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter.

Both leaders have recently expressed willingness to meet to discuss ending Russia’s war on Ukraine, which Trump previously boasted he could end before taking office.

Senior Russian officials recently made trips to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, but some Russian diplomats and intelligence officials reportedly oppose holding the summit there due to the countries’ close ties with the U.S. military and intelligence services.

Trump claimed Sunday that members of his team were already in talks with Russian authorities about ending the war in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged that contacts were “apparently planned.”

Trump went along to get along with The Swamp during his first term, mostly to the detriment of his political agenda.

One W he did put on the board was putting the Pentagon in it place. And I hope he's poised to rebuild upon that. Let's all hope he puts an end to the democrat warmongering, and opens up the Russian market again.

I doubt Iran would be able to get Trump in Saudi Arabia but don't put it past them... Trump needs to take Steven Segall with him on this one

What is Trump going to propose another plan like he has for Gaza?  Give up all the land in return for snake oil promises paid for by other people?  Ukraine gonna be involved?

Trump could propose that the Ukrainians get to live in Ukraine like how the Palestinians get to live in Israel.   Essentially, in an apartheid state, as second class non-citizens.   Russians would lord over the Ukrainians?

Then the Democrats and Republicans would probably both support it --- like how they do with Israel treatment of the Palestinians.   In exchange, the Russians would need to form a super PAC to fund the campaigns of the Republicans and Democrats.

Not quite sure I have ever felt more dejected because of a political headline than I was 10 or so minutes ago after reading that the President of the U.S. wants to oversee the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. I mean other stuff in real life has obviously made me feel worse, but when it comes to straight politics I’m having trouble thinking of a headline that made me feel worse.

To be fair, the US has sat idly by, and has allowed / supported keeping citizens of Gaza in essentially a ghetto for decades.   They can't freely travel.  They have military watching their every move.  Can't act as a sovereign state.  Constant harassment.

That seems like a terrible situation as well.

Not sure the solution, but how about our politicians give the Palestinians actual sovereignty and self-determination.

The state of Israel seems to be a big problem.  I am starting to believe you cannot a religious state and a democratic state.  They keep encroaching on land too.  Honestly, it is ridiculous the special treatment we give them and it is quite weird.

Just an honest look and the government and state of Israel are real shitheads like the old apartheid South Africans.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he’s given his advisers instructions to obliterate Iran if it assassinates him.

“If they did that they would be obliterated,” Trump said in an exchange with reporters while signing an executive order calling for the U.S. government to impose maximum pressure on Tehran. “I’ve left instructions if they do it, they get obliterated, there won’t be anything left.”

If Trump were assassinated, Vice President JD Vance would become president and would not necessarily be bound by any instructions left by his predecessor.

Federal authorities have been tracking Iranian threats against Trump and other administration officials for years.

I'm pretty sure he said he'd take ownership of it... talk about a good way to get thousands of US troops killed

I can't imagine more US troops in the Middle East would sit well with anyone in the Middle East

and his forcing Palestinians to settle in Jordan in Egypt, who the fuck is he ?

I doubt they're afraid of him or his threats

Trump is a total CLOWN.  His supporters are morons.  WTF is he talking about?

These idiots have been sitting lecturing about how Trump is going to keep us out of wars, how we spend too much on foreign aid, how we need yo be America first!!  Then he comes out with this bright idea?  The USA is going to take over Gaza and remake it?  What a fucking idiot!

Has this idiot even thought about his strategy or did he just shown up in the White House and starts shooting from the hip?  Honest question..what was a stupider musing?  This or injecting bleach to cure covid.  Think, Donald, think.  You are embarrassing yourself and your moron supporters.

Remember when the lady Doctor Birx was unconcomfortable at his covid bleach presser, you could read on her face.   "You stupid, stupid,  fuck... " but couldnt say that.  Egypt and Jordan have that same look right now

It gets better when sports and politics collide.  A subsection of Padres fans were not too thrilled after Fernando Tatis Jr. took a picture with an Israeli baseball player and the caption read "bring them home." You'd think Nando committed a crime with some of their responses.
