Don't forget the Parable of the Talents

Matthew 25:14–30.

Jesus scolded the guy for giving different amounts, and demanded that there be equity.

Context, my friend. The parable of the talents is a metaphor that Jeebers (we're on casual terms, so I can call Him shit like that) clearly explains is a analog for investing one's faith and work in the name of the kingdom of Heaven while awaiting the return of the Lord. I mean, it's right there in 25:14 ffs, though if you want to really care about the message, it runs the entirety of chapters 24 and 25.

Not only that, the parable the talents is the best evidence of Jesus preaching DEI --- Equity.   It's right there by how he equally divided the coinage based on equity.

Once, when I was something like 6-7, I was coming back from visiting my great grandma up in WA. There were no jet bridges back then - you deplaned by walking down a flight of stairs that were wheeled up to the main cabin door. Immediately in front of me was someone's grandma, carrying an open crate of apples. It couldn't have been that big, because she was slight and old.

Being a stupid kid, I was just staring at my feet as I shuffled my way to the exit. Due to her age and carry-on, everybody had cleared the stairway below her as she began descending the stairs. And that's when my stupid shuffling kid's feet accidentally connected with her heel. I might have flat-topped her - I don't remember. What I do remember is what happened next - someone's grandma went tumbling down that whole flight of stairs, box of apples and all - and ended up sprawled out on the tarmac. The stewardess (they weren't FAs yet) held me up at the top of the stairs, where I watched as paramedics attended to her and put her on a gurney. My parents were inside the terminal at the gate, watching the whole time. I still wonder to this day if I killed grandma. 😐

Brutal accident for a young San Diegan and not so great for Grandma Apple either.

On the plus side you are welcome at Mackay stadium anytime.
