This is hilarious coming from the guy that's been following me around everywhere for four years and responding to my posts, but claims you are trying to ignore me. 1 Quote

Yeah but easier to skip over it. Literally some threads are half as long. And of course the more people put him on ignore the less reply drivel you will have. 2 1 Quote

Dude... when I was a kid my grandmother god rest her Sicilian lunatic soul gave me something called The Lincoln Library, It was printed in the 50's and my mother used it when she was in elementary school in the 60's. I was real popular in 1988 telling all the kids on my little league team about Red Schoendienst, Early Wynn and Richie Ashburn who were the greatest players of the era. I was that guy you are talking about and looking back... how did I not get beaten up for being that guy ? Quote

I recommend it highly. Same for him and a few others. Turned notifications off as well. Makes it much more enjoyable to be here. 1 Quote

OK, but then what, you guys are going to just talk to each other about how awful republicans and Trump are? That doesn't seem like much fun. AztecAlien and me are pretty much the only conservatives posting on this thread. I enjoy interacting with you, but if it's just going to be you, AZgreg, spartanwithnovowels, and the rest on the left, then I've got better things to do. 1 Quote

To the extent that the water travels through the San Juaquin river and on to the delta it will allow an equal amount of water to be pumped from the delta and sent south via the aquaduct to socal. State and federal law currently requires a specific amount of flows through the delta for the delta smelt. Flows above that level can be pumped south. I've no idea if they were pumped south though. That said, as stated previously none of this would have had any impact in fighting the LA fires at all. This is Trump doing his usual superficial glossing over a problem, not listening to the people closest to the issue, and then thinking it can all be fixed by one grandiose move by him. CA has a fairly sophisticated water department that determines how much water each dam should be releasing. Release too much and with a lack of rain/snow then users downstream are out of luck for the next year. Release too little, a large warm storm comes in and you get massive flooding the likes of which happened in '97 and '86. In February 2018 the dam at Oroville came extremely close to failing and tens of thousands of people downstream had to be evacuated. Determining how much to release from a dam is not a job I would want. @Old_SD_Dude is correct. The Fresno county dams connect to the California acqueduct that goes over the Grapevine, the Tulare County ones don't. They just dump onto the Westside of the San Joaquin Valley. A couple of years ago, when we had a really wet year, thousands of acres were under water for a year or more where the old Tule Lake used to be. A long-dormant lake has reappeared in California, bringing havoc along with it 2 Quote

I have no problem engaging with conservatives, at least when they’re not trolling. I have enjoyed discussions with you over the years. And I typically don’t waste my time with general denunciations of Trump and Republicans. There’s no point despite my absolute contempt for Trump and his stooges. They won the election. I responded immediately to this thread because I knew exactly where the water was going and how stupid Trump’s claims were. My problem with AA is not his conservatism. It’s his continual pattern of shifting the argument away from the matter at hand when confronted with facts that don’t support his narrative. Very little of his posting in this thread had anything at all to do with the actual topic. I regret responding to him. Just this evening though I put several of those he most frequently argues with on ignore because, despite their liberal politics, I don’t want to read through their fights with him. Quote

It’s has nothing to do with his political opinions. It’s more the nonstop personal back and forth with literally every poster. It’s his right to do that but it makes wading through the threads very time consuming. Quote

The water released from Success Lake and Kaweah Reservoir does not flow into the San Joaquin River. It flows into Tulare Lake via the Tule River and is not connected to the state Water Project. The state of California had nothing to do with the releases. It was purely the Army Corps. A couple miles above the Kaweah Dam today. Hoping for a good storm this week, and then another couple in march. If we can get lucky enough to get an april rain as well, it will be green till the end of June. 1 Quote
