Wolf from 73 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 It is being reported that the Pac-12 is not having any success finding a viable media deal. Multiple reports are that it will be similar to the MWC money. Reports are a merger could net north of $10-15 million per team. Without the Pac is looking at $8 million tops but probably less. https://x.com/TBM_JY/status/1885399234393862150 5 1 Quote
CowboyFriar Posted January 31 Posted January 31 MWC doesn't need the small markets of the nPac. 3 5 14 Quote
NorCalCoug Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Wait, but someone here had sources that said the PAC deal was coming in at $15M!!!! 1 7 Quote
Quickdraw Posted January 31 Posted January 31 If true that would be pretty funny. If there is any fire to this smoke the tunes being played around here will turn sour quickly. 2 Quote
BroncoInferno Posted January 31 Posted January 31 MW rumored to be $5 million per. PAC rumored to be $8 million per. But combined they get $10 - 15 million per? What kind of brain damage does it take for that to seem reasonable? 4 1 Quote
Bigd Posted January 31 Posted January 31 It would be a weird league with all the new additions. But as of now I guess we'd be at 16 for football and 18 for basketball. I don't see it happening, but $10-15 million per school is a lot. The new MW is growing on me, even though it makes a lot less sense to have two separate leagues. Quote

It was the no brainer move that should have been done first ------- WOSU join up with the MWC under whatever name/entity......then grab a few good BB programs like Gonzaga / Grand Canyon Etc and create a western centric conference that has a footprint throughout the Pacific & Mountain time zones 12 Quote
pomf Posted January 31 Posted January 31 That'd be the second funniest possible result at this point. 1 Quote
415hawaiiboy 2.0 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 My hunch is the CFP would consider geographical diversity of team participants, which naturally would tilt MidWest and Southeast. So, the West Coast could get a bias for at large bid including G6 spot. Quote

UNLV2001 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 These two guys have grasped the reality that some PAC cheerleaders here can't grasp Adding some MWC teams under the PAC name with two sinking ships that the old PAC left behind isn't the great panacea they hoped it would be 6 1 1 Quote

Only possible deal consistenting of CW Game time slots right after repeats of Dawson's Creek? Possibility that the Pac leadership might be viewed as radioactive by the major network executives because of the dirty pool they played in kneecapping the MWC and harming the CBS deal? 2 Quote
Billings Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Pac is now a small regional Conference. ESPN, FOX, and CBS all already have quality options in that region. BIG, BIG 12, ACC, and MWC all play in that time zone. No surprise that they have no leverage 6 1 Quote
