It is more likely Sans is saving Cal's butt in travel fees.

Whatever the reason, this is good for building local interest in college football.

what? honestly?

aren't there plans to add seating?

It was a joke. And no, our AD has no plans other than casually mentioning that he would like to see premium seating on that side. We would all like to see something built. Jeff Konya has done some good things with local media exposure and hiring Niumatalolo. There has even been a major donation announced from Habbas Law. Fans are screaming for seats, but there doesn't seem to be any urgency.

Imagine that's a big part of scheduling SJSU - A bus ride and not a flight over most of the continent like they usually have to do

I'm jealous, but I'm starting to think Cal will never schedule us again.

I'd love to have more regular games against Cal/Stanford. You'd think with their ACC schedule that they'd want to be very regional OOC.

Wilcox doesn't want to lose to Nevada again.

So, 30K at Berkeley and 20K at SJSU?

It's 21k at SJSU, sir. Memorial's max is 65k, I think.

Cal hasn't had a home game under 30k in years.

Yeah, we're on a 3 game winning streak against Cal, against three different coaches.

We also broke in their beautiful new stadium upgrade with a loss.

Not in announced attendance. In actual attendance it sure has, because I've been there for several of them.

So cheap to ride the BART to the other campus for both teams.

That’d be nice, but BART won’t take you to SJSU, it stops in North SJ. There are plans to extend it to Downtown SJ, but that’s probably 10-15 years away from happening.

That's what media and poaching fees are for

I'm glad they are playing each other, and that Stanford has resumed playing SJSU. I'm sure those games will be of more interest to Cal & Stanford fans than ACC games with Pitt, BC and Syracuse, and better for the Spartans than a body-bag game at some SEC or Big 18 outpost.

If Cal or Stanford scheduled Fresno State H &H they might actually draw some visiting fans to Memorial Stadium and not have to pay $200,000 for a charter plane for the return trip.

Yeah now that they both have east coast schedules in conference, they schedule regionally OOC. More Fresno, SJSU, and Nevada as much as it pains their administration.
