Someone suggested the following realignment between the Big 12 and ACC, and it makes too much sense to ever happen: If we’re going to talk about a CFP of 14 schools with 2 bids for the ACC and Big 12, then I’d propose they do a reorganization that looks like this: East: BC, Cuse, Pitt, WVU, VT, Cincy, L’ville, UCF, USF Atlantic: UVA, UNC, NC St, Duke, WF, Clemson, GT, FSU, Miami Central: Iowa St, Kansas, K St, Okla St, TCU, SMU, Baylor, Texas Tech, Houston Pacific: Colorado, Utah, BYU, Arizona, Arizona St, Cal, Stanford, Wash St, Ore St Each division plays 8 games round robin and then 1 hosts 2 in the Division Championship Game with the winner getting a CFP bid You could swap out some of the schools, but the round robin regional idea looks so much better than the current geographically messy Big 12 and ACC. SleepingGiantFan Posted February 4 Posted February 4 If the CFP is further expanded with the revenue increased by a like percentage, I envision guaranteed berths will go by the wayside. I mean, no conference has ever been guaranteed a minimum number of slots in March Madness. Without that, restraint of trade litigation is almost certain to occur. Quote

One would wonder on paper the traditional media companies doesn't like the nPAC is because, they have their own media side covered and ESPN, FOX, CBS makes money, in adding equipment and manpower into their bottomline. Lets face it, those who work with media numbers will glorify and pat that expense amount to the max of their ability. Without any of that income, that will take a big bite of their profitabilty and writeoffs, and that maybe is the sticky point of this whole thing. Perhaps that is why CW, WBD/TNT and streaming companies are in the game because, they don't have production trucks, staff and talent to feed every week on their payroll. Another thing I found interesting to hear the the AD's were given a tour of the PAC-12 Enterprise facilities to show the potential of making money on the backend and that the 12-15Mil might be realized just for by having it own studio. It's like a undiscovered asset that only the nPAC can offer. So even if the number looks low at 8Mil-10...the PAC-12 Enterprisecs can potentially make up the difference and that may be the ace in the pocket for the nPAC. And for shows like the Monty Show...talking the sky is falling on the nPAC and that Gloria is negotiating to beatout the nPAC, in new media deal, like the B12 did a year before the Old PAC, is a seed for discussion for the nPAC to say something. My 2c BYU's HD truck all over again. Have you got tens of millions of Latin American cell phone subscribers starved to hear the Lord's message be evangelized through PAC-12 sports, too? 2 2 Quote

I’ve had to deal with unfounded and false rumors that stirred up a segment of the population and the easiest way to deal with it was to send out a press release. You can see the same type of behavior on this board with the emotional responses to rumors. It isn’t wise to underestimate how emotional and irrational the general public can be, or what kind of damage can result from it. That's why the PAC going radio silent about their progress is odd to me. Instead of getting out in front of the rumor mill, they let it churn. That doesn't help their public perception. At least give the public something besides Internet rumor and innuendo to chew on. 1 Quote
Spaztecs Posted February 4 Posted February 4 It looks as if the Memphis to the PAC wet dream is still alive. The Memphis AD said he is still interested. Quote

The wet dream that broke up a productive marriage (got you in the CFP), costed $141 million in alimony plus legal, and you still didn’t get a taste of the tigers punani. Doesn’t sound like she’s going to give it to you. She likes the attention though. Keep chasing that tail. Memphis is ______ (to me, Ariana Grande). 1 Quote

You guys were in the same conference with BYU for almost a century before they had that HD truck. Despite the type of religious animus you display and BYU's no-Sunday games rule, that school is now in a power conference whereas in two years your school will be a member of what will be akin to the 2001 version of the Western Athletic Conference. Gee, maybe Wyoming should have had an HD truck too? 1 Quote
