Soupslam Posted January 23 Posted January 23 It’s sink or swim for the Broncos tonight. Lose this one and it’ll be NIT bound if that. Quote
Headbutt Posted January 23 Posted January 23 No Mbemba tonight. Djapa looking solid in his place, but we'll see if that holds up. Missing Mbemba creates a huge advantage for Boise. 1 Quote

Headbutt Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Wow! Just got that nasty run going a little too late Boise. Good game. That one was a little hard on my blood pressure. 1 Quote

Soupslam Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Medved coached circles around Rice and staff, but that’s not saying much. 3 Quote
4rowsup Posted January 23 Posted January 23 BSU coaches do not have any clue how to coach a deeper rotation and have not done a thing to get this team playing together. Absolute garbage on the court the last two away games. Luckily we got hot for 10 minutes and CSU got cold but the game was never in doubt. This coaching staff and unfortunately the team do not know how to win a close game. Kudos to Medved and the Rammies for creating and taking advantage of the mismatches the last two possessions for the win. Like I said, game was never really in doubt. Edit: Case in point, Dutcher and SDSU in a dog fight of a game at Air Force last night that goes to overtime. Air force leads by one with roughly 5 seconds left and Dutcher draws a good play, and SDSU pulls it out at the buzzer. Good teams and coaches just know how to win close games and have the confidence to do so. 1 Quote

Then why was I sitting in front of the TV going "Oh Shit!!" Medved lamented after the game that he didn't get more help on Degenhart. We didn't bring the double to make up for the lack of Mbemba's big body, and damn near paid dearly for it. 1 1 Quote
Spaztecs Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I was just about to switch to the Utag game when Boise started their run. Ever since Meadow cut his hair, Boise has gone down the drain. Quote
HylianHero Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Great win from the Rams, especially without Mbemba playing. Degenhart killed us inside, but he would have helped with that. It's crazy to see where this team is vs. where they were when they lost to UC-Riverside. On Medved we trust. 1 Quote

Swoll Cracker Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I expected a close game and that’s what it turned out to be although I didn’t imagine CSU running out to a 17-point lead and then giving it all back and then some before the last second heroics of Jalen Lake. I chatted a little with Tyson Degenhart and Leon Rice post-game. Both are first class guys. I’ll be working to get Degenhart on my YouTube channel the week before his final game in Boise which happens to be against CSU. My vision is to have both he and Nique Clifford on together - two done deal MWC first teamers. Here’s something none of us knew. Nique Clifford’s dad played for Leon when Leon was an assistant at Northern Colorado. After the game I took pictures of the two of them and we joked that Leon was kind of like a grandfather to an all-MWC player in Clifford. Leon faces some major challenges with his team. The talent is there but the consistency is lacking. He told me he needs to figure out how to get the right guys on the floor. Biggest issue to my eyes is that Stanley’s game has fallen off a cliff but they still need to find a way to get him going if they want to progress. Personally, I thought Leon put some players on the floor last night who were pretty useless in their limited minutes. I’m having Jalen Lake on my Thursday night LIVE show for a few minutes just to talk about last night. 3 Quote
