albballfan Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Sadly kk is not the guy. Was rooting for him tho. Glad he got this year to prove himself. But he just isn't the guy. Still. I would be okay with giving another year if UNLV doesn't have a slam dunk hire then I would just keep him another year. Better to keep him and then settle for another mediocre coach. We don't have a chick AD anymore. So I think we'll get a much better hire. 1 1 1 Quote

He's obviously a great coach, and those violations matter a lot less in the NIL era. 1 Quote
Qwelish Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I think UNLV gets priced out for Wade. I think AD EH goes retired or nba. If he's able to grab a great coach from a lower level, Wade included, he will be a UNLV sports legend. Quote

Constantly (singing):”Make some noise!” I wonder how much they pay him to repeat that 50 times a game. I would rather hear the band play than these d.j. type guys. That’s college football! Yeah I don't need hype guys , I always enjoyed the bands (or the hot Asians in the Rebel girls) 1 Quote

I went to pickleball slam on Sunday featuring Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf and... that clown was there. MAKE SOME NOOOO-OOOOIIISE!!!! Like he has a monopoly on Vegas sporting events. Incredibly strange. 1 3 Quote
8-Bit UNLV Fan Posted February 19 Posted February 19 They don't have hype men like this at Dayton. Dayton just fills its arena and lets the game speak for itself. We are absolutely busch league. 2 Quote

Droga Posted February 20 Posted February 20 About 3 weeks (give or take a day or two) before the Kevin Kruger era comes to an end. Hoping Harper is already making contacts behind the scenes and will have somebody lined up so there will be a short time period before a hire is made. I am guessing UNLV will have 0-2 players return. Complete redo staff and players. We will need a coach that can immediately jump intp recruiting and getting the staff in place. 2 1 Quote

NIL and Vegas make that entirely possible , the game has changed quite a bit since the Menzies hiring. Speaking of, he may be out of a job soon too, KC was playing really well but they've lost 10 straight or something like that. 1 Quote

Doesn't matter who stays or goes and some of the old arguments are completely out the window. KK has not kept much roster continuity at all. He has mostly recruited the portal and shown even HS players the door after one season. This hire will be about timing, relationships and money. The ncaa is basically aau basketball now. 1 Quote
Quickdraw Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I’m actually getting fairly excited to see Harper put his mark on our MBB program . Hopefully UNLV’s community partners have quietly stepped up to support a real change. The Mullen hire was a near shock regarding the commitment towards football. Hoping we see something similar in MBB. 2 Quote
