While the PAC goes with the strategy of being an OTA  TV disruptor (not a bad strategy with CW).

I hope the MW goes big on sports betting.  There will be a mix of existing media partners, but I want to ride the online sports betting wave.

Also, why? Unlike traditional tv and even streamers, I believe the sports betting companies will have a bit more profit margin to boost quality of play.

I don’t know how these gambling houses make money, but I’ve read that they make more money when the underdogs win.  But with a G6, you’re going to be in the drivers seat for underdogs, OOC  games especially.  And get content at a not to steep of a price, with exposure to P4’s in OOC games.

They are more likely to market and want to see upsets.

I’m invested in Flutter (FanDuel parent) and this article supports my theory:

This is all very new.  The MW has the top gambling brands in the G6.

In certain layers, the MW is better, in others, the Pac is better.  Let Fresno, CSewe, and Utard State act like they are all that...but they absolutely are not.  They are the equivalent of UTEP, Wyoming, and Nevada in that order.

Fresno has had more FB Titles  than the rest of the leftovers. They also have more CCG appearances than the rest do, combined. They have as many basketball Titles as UNLV.

Utard State has brought more post season revenue to the MW than any of the left behind Schools. They have more FB Titles than everyone but Sparty.

CSewe got invited. The rest didn't.

But keep telling us how the Pac sucks.

Which layers are those?  Pls be specific.

Who’s acting like we are all that?  How are we supposed to act when y’all cry over your sour grapes?

Lol, future conference rankings. Dumber than normal, for you.

I wouldn’t like data either, if I was in your shoes.

ANSWER MY QUESTION:  Why would the new 12-PACk member want to “merge” w/a conf w/UTEP, Grand Cyn, Davis, UNI, etc…?

I don't think you know the difference between data -- recorded evidence of events that actually occurred -- and speculation.

Money. That's it. If it's not $$$worth it, it won't happen.

So you are saying forecasts & models are worthless?

Other than a Crystal Balls, what #s do you propose I use?

You are grasping at straws & you know it!

I’m guess they take 20% juice like the Vegas Sports Books ¿No?

The awesome scenario is 2026 is the first major battle between online gambling companies for sports content. Other conferences don’t go to market until 2032 - way too late for these fast growing companies.

The MW with the top two most gambled on G5 schools will be valuable for these new players.

- BetMGM moves to protect the Las Vegas turf.

- FanDuel TV moves to lock up Hawaii (along with the MW as a package)

- ESPN Bet becomes a more profitable franchise when they need the money the most (so they can be sold) at a higher valuation.  They will probably look to convert their existing inventory - so they have a built in advantage.

Who are “…the top two most gambled on G5 schools?”

What is the connection?  How does Fan Duel “lockup Hawai’i.”

I was referring to suing to get out of the poaching fees - 'souring' on the deal a year after it was signed.

As for the payment to get out of the league - most, if not all get lowered. That doesn't mean I don't want every last dime to stay with the MW - and I'm sure you feel the exact opposite.

How do we get it lowered w/out at least threatening to go to court?

How is playing the traditional game “sour grapes?”

There’s a paywall.  Basically, 9% juice for online sports gambling.  Hawaii is the top G6, followed by UNLV.  They are mid-P4 level in gambling interest.

More than half of Hawaii’s home games are on PPV and the app.  One can believe that if all Hawaii’s games were on national tv, esp the home games, that gambling interest would double (maybe triple over time).

Wait.  Gloria went to the media partners right after losing membership?  The folks who put the MWC on TV and pay money for that?  I mean, wow!!!

That might have been the dumbest video I've ever seen.  Honestly, I couldn't finish it.  For fuck's sake, of course she went to the sugar daddy and asked what to do next.  There is stupid, and then there is the Monty Show.  I'm not even sure where to begin in describing the level of halfwittednes (not sure that's a word) that show presents.  Gloria consulted with the media partners regarding who to backfill with, and assumably the Pac has been stumbling around only talking to random schools without any consultation with prospective media partners.  Dang, that's likely.

That podcast gives really stupid podcasts a good name.
