evilpoke Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Let's Focus on the Positive, People Buoyed by the $100 to 150M in payouts, a better than expected TV deal (I'm sticking with $6M per year) and fanbases motivated by being 'left behind' or joining the conference, the schools are able to secure massive capital projects (looking at you Reno, Hawaii, UNI and Davis), inject money into NIL (looking at you ... everyone) and raise yearly spending into the $60M range (at least for full members). This leads to 2-3 tournament teams per year and capturing a spot in the College Football Playoffs on a consistent basis (33 to 50% of the time). 4 Quote

halfmanhalfbronco Posted January 18 Posted January 18 That would be awesome. I also think the MWC will get a deal in the 5-6 range based on the inflation of sports properties. The Pac in the 10-12 range. Under current rules, I think the odds wil be either thr Big12 or ACC champ will be ranked lower than the highest G6 champ about half the time. Quote

Which should be around 6-8. Football finish next season should be interesting. I predicted top 3 in this order 1. UNLV 2. SJSU 3. BSU The nPAC will withered into obscurity along with OSU and WAZZU purses. 3 5 1 1 Quote
Tripoda Posted January 18 Posted January 18 You traitors really f*cked up this time and you dragged some suckers with you. Hindsight is 20/20 but things could handled better instead you let a few people egos ruined it. Reverse merger would have been easily done. Secondly, a vote to dissolve the MWC would been another. A bunch of idiots with ego ruin a good thing. 2 1 1 Quote
CSUProgressive Posted January 18 Posted January 18 It’s optimistic to think that being “left behind” will suddenly lead to consistent CFP appearances and multiple tournament teams. Speculation about payouts and TV deals is just that—speculation. Without actual numbers or guarantees, it’s hard to believe these schools will have the resources to compete at the same level as the nPac. CSU, SDSU, Boise State, and the rest of the nPac have moved on to bigger and better opportunities. While the remaining schools may see some improvements, it’s unlikely they’ll close the gap anytime soon. Motivation is great, but it doesn’t replace the exposure, competition, and resources that come with being part of a top-tier conference like the nPac. 3 3 1 Quote

Your mother and father albeit Oregon State and Washington State are an abortions of the PAC12. Schools like UCLA, Oregon, Washington etc. couldn't get out fast enough and left their belonging behind. They dont care about what they left behind. That is your anchors, traitors. 2 2 Quote
Tripoda Posted January 18 Posted January 18 And if you think bringing Texas State will help you in exposure then you are hopeless as we are thought. Texas State have been around since 1890's. That is an old school. If they are able to get this far in nearly 150 year existence then they are going nowhere fast. Top tier conference my ass 1 Quote

Sure, schools like UCLA and Washington bolted for bigger paydays, but let’s not pretend they represent the soul of what the PAC-12 was. OSU and WSU have been the backbone of the conference, consistently punching above their weight and proving their worth. The nPac isn’t about clinging to the past—it’s about building something new and competitive. Schools like CSU, SDSU, and Boise State bring fresh energy and growing fanbases. The ones who left may have chased the money, but the nPac is proving that success isn’t just about the biggest paycheck—it’s about creating a conference with heart, tradition, and a drive to win. Let’s see how “top tier” those traitors are when they’re stuck in soulless conferences where they’re just another number. 2 2 6 1 2 Quote

Like I have said, the football finish next season will be interesting. The drives you are talking about will be in display. In a couple of years, UTEP with their new sponsors and support will start to grow. I dont like their Coaching staff but there are more potentials than say Texas State which is like a moss grow like molasses in the forest. Your Utopian view of the crappy nPAC is what lead you guys to this spot. Reverse merger, you dumbass. It is easy. Call a truce and reverse merge the conferences. 1 2 Quote
EZRebel Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Nothing screams “Conference of Champions” like Texas State, two cast offs and a bunch of Mountain West teams. 2 1 Quote
Tripoda Posted January 19 Posted January 19 UNLV went into the Big 12 country: Houston and Kansas and broke their vaginas. Just end this nonsense and quit paying the damn lawyers and merge. Our conference can rival conferences like ACC and Big 12. 2 1 Quote

Sure, let’s talk about Oregon State winning 10 games in 2022 and becoming a top-20 program despite having fewer resources than most of their competitors. Or Washington State consistently fielding competitive teams while being in one of the smallest markets in major college football. These programs have proven they can do more with less—something schools like UTEP and Texas State can only dream of at this point. As for your “reverse merger”, that’s wishful thinking. The nPac is moving forward, building something stronger with schools like CSU, SDSU, and Boise State that bring actual value to the table. Meanwhile, the MWC and its “potential” are stuck trying to catch up. You can call it utopian, but the nPac is focused on growth and success—not clinging to the past. Enjoy watching from the sidelines. 1 1 2 1 Quote

Why would the new 12-PACk “merge” w/a conf w/UTEP, Grand Cyn, Davis, UNI, etc… You are delusional! 1 1 Quote

Enjoy watching from the sidelines. Your first paragraph should scare you a little. You all max out with your markets. Boise, WAZZU, and your other parents market Oregon State...yeah the one that actively fool your schools. WAZZU is asleep mostly in these moves but the Beavers are actively trying to make things look better than it is really. At some point you will see, and at that point you will say WTF are we doing here? No traitors will regret what you have done. If the merger isn't in your plan, then go and die. 1 Quote
