Akkula Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Uh oh, Trump! Why haven't the mass deportations begun? Getting stuck in the mass legal process? Governing is HARD, LOL. More Snake Oil! It is so easy sending out 100s of executive orders but nothing happens without substance behind them! This is also what happens when you hire incompetent "yes men" instead of people who actually know how to run these departments. We told you...if Trump couldn't out deport Obama even though this was his THING in his first term, why would he be able to do it now? It was all just performative cruelty and family separations but few actual results! Trump Migrant Deportation Numbers Compared to Obama, Biden - Newsweek The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Tuesday that in the first two weeks of President Donald Trump's second term, nearly 5,700 illegal immigrants had been deported. If the new administration continues at that clip, one expert told Newsweek, then it would be on track to deport half the number of migrants removed during former President Joe Biden's last full fiscal year in 2024. According to DHS, 5,693 people were deported or removed to 121 countries in the two weeks between Inauguration Day until February 3, 2025. The last monthly figures available from Biden's presidency, for November 2024, show 48,970 total removals, averaging around 12,200 a week. Quote

Trump came out with a bunch of executive orders as high as a mountain. Performative governing. But the thing is you actually have to have some follow through. You can't just say "Mexico Will Pay for It" to get elected but have no strategy to actually bring about your plans. Trump is completely incompetent at governing. His henchmen are incompetent. These people are the same caliber of people that Saddam and Putin hire. Why do you think Putin can't even beat Ukraine? He has a massive army but his henchmen have been pulling it apart and selling it for spare parts for 30 years. The generals are incompetent and more interested in enriching themselves than being a competent military force. Putin chooses them for loyalty and does not choose based on merit. I mean Trump does the same thing...look at Hegseth. White guy affirmative action and political patronage. The most effective attack against MAGA is to highlight just how utterly incompetent they are. I KNEW they were not going to be able to do mass deportations because there is a court backlog. You can't deport someone without a removal order. They NEVER thought how to fix this issue and have absolutely no plans to change the law. I am sure they are kicking themselves now for not passing Biden's law. So funny! Quote

I think he thrives on the chaos that he creates and to some degree, I think it's good for Washington in the long run. Things that he challenges that are unconstitutional will get sorted out and at the end of the day, all of the soundbites and outrage will will have little impact on most of us. The bigger impact on our lives is the self-inflicted rise in blood pressure as people scour the internet for stories of doom and gloom and run here to post and argue about them. That's a mindset that I just can't get on board with. 3 Quote

Biden signed 22 his first week compared to Trump's 6 (in 2017) and 42 in his first 100 days compared to Trump's 30+ (also in 2017). There was plenty of opportunity for outrage on the matter in 2022. As I said in my post, I'm not a fan of the use of EO's as they have developed in recent years, but let's not pretend that Trump is the only guilty party on the matter. 1 1 Quote

Dont hurt yourself moving the goalposts. 2017 was a long time ago. And 6 of those 22 were for COVID anyways. Quote

If you're going to be outraged, be consistent. The point of my post wasn't that executive orders were outrageous. I said they were performative, symbolic virtue signatling more than anything of real substantive change. Although ones that blatantly violate the law and constitution without any justification are pretty despicable. My point is that you guys had better have more up your sleeve than a bunch of executive orders that are on their way to getting slapped down and watered down by the courts. Elon's little maneuver is also going to get shut down real soon, I am sure. If the next thing you roll out is the huge tax cut for billionaires, it could get ugly really quick, especially since your "mass deportations" are not getting any traction. You better have more to show with your majority than a tax cut and a thumbs down on Obamacare, like last time. Quote
