Tripoda Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I thought it was outlandish. Maybe not.... https://247sports.com/college/unlv/longformarticle/college-football-2025-lookahead-teams-that-could-be-unstoppable-next-season-243273729/ Quote
Tripoda Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 Let me ask you guys a question. Will UNLV starts out the year as the #4 team in the country based upon Coach Dan Mullen's reputation. Probably not right? This UNLV team is getting some serious talents infusion. Try not to hate and just use your knowledge because you guys are the most knowledgeable fans around, give your unbiased opinion. No hate no love just an opinion. 1 Quote
Gator 82 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I wonder who the writer thinks UNLV’s lone loss is to. Boise. UCLA? Quote
Rebel_Alliance Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I'll believe the Arch Manning hype when it actually translates onto the field. Right now, he's just a name, and if he didn't have that name, he'd be a 3 star playing for Vandy or Purdue. Quote
BSUTOP25 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 UNLoLV football fan is the new UNLoLv basketball fan. Lulz 1 Quote

UNLV fan just reposted it. UNLV is not going to start pre-season ranked #4. Get a life bro. Your infatuation with a program you deem as irrelevant is weird as fuck. 1 1 Quote
Slappy Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Honestly if Boise holds onto guys and doesn’t get hurt too bad with the portal, then it is their conference again for the taking. Hoping for some more money via the playoffs. But need to see the portal movements. Changes things so much because it’s guys that can play moving. 1 1 Quote

Boise State lost only one player of note to the portal, Prince Strachan a wide receiver. However, graduation and the NFL took Ashton Jeanty, three Dline starters, one Oline starter, and possibly another WR. Even with the loss of Jeanty the Broncos return three very good RBs two of whom were injured last year. The offense should still be very good. The defense has a lot of holes to fill. 1 Quote

Until someone dethrone Boise, they're the kings. 1 1 Quote

UNLV is doing great in the portal but not top 10 killing it kind of stuff. It may be Mullen, but it's still G5 UNLV. You won't start in the top 10, and likely won't finish ranked. Nobody on that team knows anything about anybody else on the team. A completely new roster, in a completely new system, with completely new coaches. I think UNLV will be pretty solid next year, nothing at all like the old days, but there's just too much growing together that 105 guys have to do to become dangerous. Quote
MotorBoat Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Unlv is a stepping stone for mid level p4 schools. Mullen is just using them to get back into coaching at a p4 in a couple of years. They have too many issues to sustain success. No stadium, few fans and playing in a soon to be watered down mw isn’t a recipe for success. 1 Quote
8-Bit UNLV Fan Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Would add that everyone in the nPAC could also be described as a P4 stepping stone. Quote

Everything else you mentioned, is just trash. 3 Quote

How many seniors are coming back on defense? Carmac left in portal. Defense looks like a complete rebuild, no? Quote

With a better OL and weaker conference, maybe he will be better? Defense. Charles Correa and Marsel McDuffie are back. These are impact players. Yes UNLV loses a lot on defense. If you look at the portal commitments, our secondary should be better than this year. JMHO. UNLV is up to 26 incoming players from the portal now. Most of them are from the P4 programs. 2 DL, 1 OL, and one WR committed today. The hogs are all over 300lbs each. The WR is a former 4* recruit out of UU. Quote
