It’s said mortality is a defining part of being human, but I honestly don’t know how I’ll handle it when my time comes (and most of the sand has run out of my hourglass).  I’d like to think I’ll be able to show as much grace and courage as you.  Thank you for being part of this community, and I wish you a comfortable and peaceful journey to whatever comes next.  Just extrapolating from the fact that our very existence is a sort of inexplicable miracle, it probably will be something good.

Sorry to hear that Mike. You helped me out tremendously when there was a shortage of baby formula. My family will never forget what you did for us and my Granddaughter. We will be praying for you and your family.

Would you mind telling us the story of how you came up with your screen name?

For us that don't know you, or haven't heard the story. We'd love to hear it.

I think he went to SDSU and then converted to being a Nevada fan, but I could be wrong.

I think he went to both SDSU and UNLV.

Convert, I don't know if you're still with us - I surely hope you are. I hadn't visited this board in about a week and never go to the political board as my heart probably wouldn't be able to take it, so I'm just now hearing the news. We're probably about the same age, and in the early 90's I lived in a house on the other side of Clairemont Mesa Blvd from you - on Peyton Place. Since my housemates and I were all bachelors in our mid/late twenties, we did have a few blowout, drunken parties. Who knows, maybe you and your buddies went to one or two.

That said, I'm really sorry to hear this news, especially the living in pain part, but glad you are doing your best to say goodbye and make arrangements to ease the troubles for your family and friends. As many have said, I hope to encounter you on the other side, wherever that may be. My sincere regards to you and your close friends and family.

My man, I'm very saddened to hear.  I hope you don't give up hope.  I'm not sure what timeline you're looking at but I want you to know that you are one of my favorite posters and I had a great time MWC Boarding with you.

I've migrated away from this and prior boards over the years, but I recognize you as a long time poster and a valuable contributor.  I'm sorry to hear of your situation and I wish you the best -- be it a miracle or a release from your pain.
