BSUTOP25 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 USU is going to abuse Boise State in Ogden. I’m thinking a 20+ point throttling.
Slappy Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Utah state is on top the MW. That is not good. They get dropped in the first round every year they make the tournament. We need to get sd state and New Mexico ready to roll come March. Boise, Utah State and Unlv do not win games in March. Time to switch gears and get this straightened out.

USU has been down big in last 2 games and managed to pull it out. That being said, I don't think BSU will be the team to beat them as badly as they shoot from the outside. The zone will stymie them (thanks Duryea) and they could very easily lose by 20+.

Boise, UNM, SDSU and USU. That would be a good thing. You had better be rooting for that. 1

Thank you for correcting me there. Utah St did do something good for once in the tournament. Pretty sure Boise still has never won a tournament game. Leon Rice has them fooled down there. Pulling for 4 bids. Hoping someone can make some first weekend noise. 1

I love my Lobos, but honestly when it comes to the NCAA tournament few teams have produced as many choke jobs as we have historically. That being said obviously I would love nothing more than to see this year's team change that. 1 2
PTR Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Embarrassing half of basketball for UNM. Getting smoked in Laradise even without Obi playing for the Pokes. I've been pretty hesitant to get into this year's squad and shit like this is why. Lobos are basically one star and a bunch of 6th man role player types. No consistent secondary scorer. They also have a bad tendency to front run as well. 2
Spaztecs Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 Just watched the first half of the UNM - Poke tilt. Sundance is a good Coach and has himself a good ball club. They held the Lobos to 18 first half points. That is UNM's lowest total since they tallied 29 against St Johns. @Hador the Lobos need to win this one if they want an at-large bid.
PTR Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Nelly has been so awful tonight. It's hard to imagine how a player can be that inconsistent week to week.
PTR Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Also, completely baffled why Pitino continue to let Amzil play Larry Bird in the corner. He has no business taking 5 or 6 three pointers per game.
jdgaucho Posted January 8 Posted January 8 @Wyobraska, I just put on the Pokes-UNM game. There's a Matija Belic sighting!
PTR Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Good game Pokes. UNM grinded it out down the stretch, but Sundance Wicks is going to build something in Laradise. 1

The difference was that Nelly was awful until the last 6 minutes of the game and then suddenly figured it out. Weird year for UNM in which they seem to play better against good/athletic teams (UCLA, ASU, VCU) and really play down with struggling teams (NMSU, SJSU, Wyoming). Really hot and cold this year. 1

He didn't do anything about it (like talking to students, for example), but he sure did whine. The AA used to be a packed house. Heath Schroyer came along and tanked it. Larry Shyatt started to build it back up, then Edwards killed fan support again and Linder continued the trend. Sundance will get there, but it's going to take a season or two. 2

Spaztecs Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 The MW scheduling is interesting this year. There are a load of big games early in the season. For SDSU, they played USU, Boise, and UNM early. The schedule really mellows out over the next month.
