Droga Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Dont see this as being close. BSu will walk away with this win. Wont be surprised to see BSu win by a 15+ point blow out. 2 1

This is how BSU fans felt with SDSU coming to town last weekend. Did not go well. My gut is telling me that UNLV not only covers the spread, but they get the W. Long athletic teams and quick guards, give us problems. UNLV has both. 1
Poster17 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I will be completely surprised if UNLV is even competitive in this game. In any case.......let's go Rebels. 1 1
UNLV2001 Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 https://lasvegassun.com/news/2025/jan/07/game-day-unlv-basketball-faces-first-mwc-test-at-b/ UNLV has breathed some life into its season by going 3-0 to begin Mountain West play, but saying the Scarlet and Gray have had an easy road would be an understatement. The teams they defeated to get to that 3-0 mark — Fresno State, Air Force and San Jose State — are currently a combined 0-11 in-league. Needless to say, the schedule is going to get a lot more difficult, starting at Boise State. The Broncos are 11-4 overall, 3-1 MWC and ranked No. 59 in KenPom, putting them squarely in the NCAA Tournament conversation. Can UNLV compete with that type of team? And it doesn’t stop there: UNLV’s next three games after that are at Colorado State, vs. Utah State and at San Diego State. All told, those four opponents are 11-3 in the Mountain West. Jaden Henley figures to be a key against Boise State, and the good news for UNLV is that the junior wing has been playing well since his return from injury. In the five games since moving back into the starting lineup, Henley is averaging 13.2 points on 53.2% shooting, including an 4-of-8 from 3-point range. Kruger said Henley’s ability to do a little bit of everything, from dribbling to driving to shooting and passing has served as a force multiplier on the offensive end. Look for Henley to draw some tough defensive matchups against Boise State, too. Henley is feeling good since his return and UNLV is better for it. “I think I’m doing pretty well so far,” Henley said. “I’m here trying to be a leader and playing as hard as I can every night.” Keep a keen eye on the clock today, and pay special attention around four minutes into the first half. That’s when Kruger usually makes his first substitutions, and lately that’s when UNLV has really done the most of its damage. Through three Mountain West games, the three-man bench unit of senior guard Jailen Bedford, sophomore guard Brooklyn Hicks and freshman center Pape N’Diaye has been carrying the Scarlet and Gray. Lineups with two or more of those players on the court have logged 61 minutes in MWC play and outscored the opposition, 142-108. Lineups with one or fewer bench player have played 59 minutes and barely broken even, outscoring opponents, 101-100. Bedford, Hicks and N’Diaye have been able to wreak havoc against the bottom of the conference. Can they make a similar impact against a quality team like Boise State? That could be the difference Tuesday.
SleepingGiantFan Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I won't weigh in on the score but (1) coming off a rare home loss, Boise will be motivated and (2) has UNLV beaten anybody with a pulse this year? 2

Qwelish Posted January 8 Posted January 8 On paper this should be a very competitive contest. On paper. Measuring stick games under KK has seen UNLV repeatedly come up short.

Not even close. 3-0 in mworst play vs teams with a combined 0-11 record. The bottom of the league is worse than its been in some time. 2
