Idiots indeed. Nobody here is trying to pretend that Jan 6th didn't happen, but the libs here love to pretend that there wasn't violence in January 2017. Were they the same in scope as each other, no, but few events are....doesn't mean you pretend like one didn't happen. If you can't see the absurdity of that, then I don't know what to tell you.

But don’t you think it is equally or more absurd that whenever Jan. 6 is brought up it is met with a chorus of “yeah, buts” and followed by events that are in no way equivalent? I do.

As for January 2017, I remember what happened. And while the actions then are indefensible, I also remember that it was not led or encouraged by President Obama, it was a fraction of the scale of Jan. 6, no one stormed the Capitol in an effort to disrupt the transfer of power, and no one died. Doesn’t make those involved that day innocent. It just means the scope of the two events are not equivalent.

False equivalencies is always the response when someone points out the hypocrisies of the Political Board's squad.

Lol....starting to think you wouldn't know a valid equivalency if it sat on your face and wiggled.

False equivalencies? Prove it wrong. You like to ask others to do the same. Come on, show us what you got, troll. I'm guessing all you got is the reaction response.

Fair enough.  A protest of 190 people arrested where nobody died and the Capitol wasnt involved (2016) vs a protest of several thousand where 2,000 have been arrested (could/should be more, but we know why that wont happen) where people died and the Capitol was stormed (2020).  Easy even for yours 20cc brain.  And I threw in an emoji just because I know how much you get off on them.

You didn't adresses Maxine Waters, Ayanna Soyini Pressley, Nancy Pelosi or Hillary Clinton enticing violence. I knew you wouldn't. But nice try though.

Seemed like piling to 'compare' a couple random comments that were NOT enciting violence to a sitting President holding a rally and saying what he said.  Not too much of a false equivalency.

Nice try though.

Lol. Welp, since it didn’t involve a 250-year subjugation of an entire people or result in the systematic murder of 12 million it must not be worth discussing then!

It is not me likening it to those things, it is Democrats.  I like that they do it.

Sure. And even if they don't liken Jan. 6 to the (checks notes) systematic extermination of 12 million people, you can just say they did. Fun for everyone!

This is from NewsWeek.  You can google it if you want.  There are plenty examples recently and over the past few years.  I am not so naive as to think Republican $%&# doesn't stink.  Maybe you should open your eyes (or nose) to some of the Democrat rhetoric you might be missing on MSNBC.

"Harris began her speech by mentioning the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, then the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021, saying each was marked in the collective memory of the U.S. as days "when our democracy came under assault."

That's the Holocaust and slavery rolled into one?! That Harris is one sly devil. I didn't even get that insinuation. Thankfully you brought it to light.

Now, about what she actually said. I have no problem admitting there is some rhetorical overreach there. Not a particularly smart or artful thing to say. I mean, Harris did lose for a reason. But adding some context: she didn't say that the tragedies were equal. Or that the events were the same. Obviously, the body counts were nowhere near the same. And two were external threats and one was a domestic threat. But what she appears to be saying is this:

Dec. 7

Sept. 11

Jan. 6

No one needs any more context than those dates to know exactly what is being talked about. Or to hear it from Harris herself in that speech:

"Certain dates echo throughout history including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them," Harris said. "Where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars but a place in our collective memory. December 7, 1941. September 11, 2001, and January 6, 2021."

Let me leave you with this. Even if she meant to equate the scale of the tragedy of Sept. 11 with the riots of Jan. 6 , which I do not believe she did, how is that any different than what you guys are doing here by equating one-off, out-of-context quotes and out-of-hand protests with what happened on Jan. 6?

Trust me, I am happy you want to play semantics with this.  I love that the Democrat party insists on doing this.  Keep promoting the divorce from reality.  It's working!

That settles it. Day of love it was! … Seems a good grasp on reality is in short supply on this topic.
