Just what the hell is a "Nittany? Lion anyways?

Boise State 28-Penn State 17

Based on the Eastern Mountain Lion, one of the last ones found on Mt. Nittany in the mid late 19th century.

However it had been extinct for half a century prior to the name so still lame.  "Oh yay we hunted this majestic creature to extinction 50 years ago"

Not going to make a prediction.

I'm just here to say this is an excellent opportunity Boise when it comes to brand building.  And brand building is what all of this is about.

Truthfully just being in the game will help build the brand but winning will score major dividends for them as will just keeping it competitive.  And even on the off chance they get blown out the fact that they are on national tv playing against a "name" institution in a playoff game will still build the brand.

Playing on this stage is similar to the brand building SDSU got by playing in the NC game in hoops... only this is much bigger because football.

I hope Penn State's defense is extinct and Jeanty runs for 250

Offensive line should be back to 100 percent, except for Keinath.

Sire Gains should be back.

Supposedly PSU has an all world Tight End.

I think Boise can win. But for them to win they would have to win big. I am not convinced that Penn State is some world beater based on their record, despite the hype.

We will have our staring O-Line back. We will have our full defense back, including field general Alexander Teubner. Don't discount that at all.

Yet, if it's close, Penn State will win. If Boise blows them away, let's get the Natty hype going, y'all.

That said, my head says:

Penn State 32 - Boise State 28

My heart says:

Boise State 38 - Penn State 14

Looking over Penn States Roster

Anybody remember the look a like threads on the Bronco Homer Board. I am terrible at these but maybe someone can start it off wit this.

Not trying to be a dick and throw extra pressure on Boise fans, but the cred of the G5 being allowed in the manufactured CFP at all rests on Boise's shoulders this year.  Any good Boise needs for their brand has already been accomplished just by getting there and Jeanty going to NY.  Anything further really boosts Boise's brand, but more importantly to the rest of us it solidifies all of our G6 brands as being legit.

I'll go all drama queen here and say that for the good of the sport overall, this becomes a must win for Boise.  This is the time to show that the ridiculous disparity in revenue is artificial and not at all based on performance.  It's really hard for me to root for Boise, although it does become easier when they play on a legit field.  However, with what's on the line...hell, I might even go out and buy a Boise lid just for watching the game in my living room.  I'm just gonna' throw this out there Boise.  Chris Peterson would win this one.  Might even be favored.  All the accolades, all the talk, and now it's time to show up for the good of the sport.

If we want a level playing field we have to earn it.  This year it's Boise's turn.  They've done it before and so have Hawaii and TCU.  It's pretty straightforward.

I think we’ll be able to see how the game goes early. If Jeanty gets 5-6 ypc Boise State will win. If Jeanty is continually stuffed at the LOS Penn State wins easily. I have zero confidence Madsen can carry Boise State throwing the ball. I just hope he doesn’t throw any balls at Penn State defenders like he’s prone to do, because they won’t drop them.

The people with the 14+ point spreads are basing that off of the diminished squad facing Mountain West teams instead of the full health team facing Oregon.

Boise has never been afraid in a Fiesta Bowl and they won't be afraid of Penn State. I hope Penn State swallows the hype.

Risky game for Jeanty to play in.  Good luck, Boise

How?  He's a first round pick no matter how he plays.  NFL GM's don't draft based on one bowl game performance.  Jeanty has already made his bones.  He's just waiting to find out what those are.  Just playing already told the scouts what he's about.

That PSU DL vs this Boise OL. Might be a rough night for Jeanty.

So basically like the Idaho ranchers and Timberline High School?

Seems like we'll see a solid chunk of Boise fans based on how my Twitter feed looks.

Got a few friends coming down staying at our place.

Let me know if you need any dive bar and/or taco recommendations!!

Boise State has equaled or surpassed opposing team fan attendance at all three Fiesta Bowls they’ve been to. I think I’ll be more one sided this time based on Boise State fans buying out their school allotment early and having a three week head start on buying tickets on the secondary market.
