If it's 16 teams, this is what I'd do.  But it's not going to be relevant as ESPN has made it clear they do not like anything other than the big 3-4 splitting off to play themselves.

Agree - the major split is coming & the rest of us will be left in the 2nd or 3rd tier 

If BSU gets routed (they are 10.5 point dogs) then the screaming will get louder about BSU getting a bye & 3rd seed as a G program

Big week for ASU and Boise.  Honestly would love to see a western final 4.  ASU. Boize.  Oregon.  ND.

The PAC is firmly G6, a full tier below the ACC & Big-12, and even with MW, AAC, Sunbelt, C-USA, and MAC.

It makes sense, the B1G and SEC already took the teams they wanted from the PAC and Big 12.   All they want is UNC Virginia Clemson and Florida state from the ACC.  All the remaining teams are left overs

Even if BSU and ASU win I kinda think the bye system for conference champs goes away. They will just say the top 4 seeds get a bye. I mean the big boys (SEC/Big-10) know there conference champ will likely be ranked in the top 4. This also allows for the 2 "best" teams to get a bye (say a team goes 12-0 in the SEC and another goes 12-0 in the Big but then both loses there conference champ game). 

And yea if BSU/ASU get routed 100% the bye for the top 4 conference champs goes away.

If the top 4 teams got byes this year it would be. Bold auto bid, () seed them ended up with.  And yes if they did it this way I would be pissed BSU is behind Indiana. they both lost to the one elite team they played expect Indiana got blown out and BSU barely lost. Plus Indiana would have zero wins vs top 25 and BSU would have 2. But otherwise fine with the rankings. I would also pick BSU to beat Indiana.

I'm not a fan of "rankings" unless it's generated by a completely unbiased computer algorithm
