GOP Rep. Kay Granger Discovered Living In Memory Care Facility

It really is time for our oldest politicians in both parties to retire or step down from office into an elder statesman advisory role. And I say that as a Baby Boomer in my 60s actively preparing for my own retirement in the next few years.

81 year old GOP Rep. Kay Granger was discovered living in a memory care facility in Texas.

Granger has not voted in Congress nor been seen in DC since July. She did not run for reelection in 2024.

But she also has not resigned her office and apparently still is receiving her salary.

Supposedly Granger was found wandering lost and confused in her neighborhood earlier this year.

Both parties need to stop pointing fingers at the oldest politicians on the other side and stop covering up the aging issues among their own party members.

Holy shit.

And yes, it's way past time for the older politicians to retire. Grassley running for re-election for a term that will take him into his mid-90s was absurd, and so was Feinstein running, getting re-elected, and then dying in office while her brain was porridge.

More coming out in followup articles. The family says she is in a senior living facility but not in its memory care section.

However they admit to demetia issues:

"Retiring U.S. Rep. Kay Granger, R-Fort Worth, has missed votes in Congress since the summer and her son said she has been “having some dementia issues late in the year.

The last time the 81-year-old congresswoman cast a vote on the House floor was the morning of July 24.

In a statement from her office, Rep. Granger expressed gratitude for the public’s concern and said that since early September, her health issues have made frequent travel to Washington, D.C., “both difficult and unpredictable.”

“As many of my family, friends, and colleagues have known, I have been navigating some unforeseen health challenges over the past year,” the statement said.

She added she was able to return to Washington in November to hold meetings and oversee the closure of her office.

From South Carolina, Brandon Granger, 52, told The Dallas Morning News Sunday morning, “It’s been a hard year,” adding it has been a surprise how quickly it progressed.

Brandon said his mother is living at Tradition Senior Living in Fort Worth, but she is not in a memory care facility, as some media reports have stated. He said that while the facility has a memory care community on the same property, Rep. Granger resides in the independent living facility."

Holy shit. The ending age for all government representatives should be 75. After that, they should be medically retired. This includes presidents. Holy shit.

Let's make it a damn Amendment. If you are too old to drive based on cognitive decline, you are too damn old to represent people in government.

You would have all voted for Hunter's dad in the general election.

I would have voted for Biden’s brain in a jar before I’d vote for Nacho Duce.

Another of our politicians who may be getting old.

81-year old GOP Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) took a fall on steps at the Capitol after the Speaker vote.

Any one at any age can slip or tumble.

But in this last year we have seen multiple 80+ year old from both parties take falls including McConnell and Pelosi.

Again as someone in my own late 60s preparing to retire in the next year or two, it is time for these really old people in politics to consider moving on.

The last I heard from that old washed out hag was yelling at a reporter to 'shut up' at the Mike Johnson confirmation.  An angry old lady.
