The MW might actually have a problem. My bet is the MW doesn't collect a penny more than it can withhold from the departing schools.

Then that is saying contracts and invalid and unenforceable.  This will all get settled but the departing schools will end up paying.

There's going to be a settlement sometime in early 2025 so both leagues can get on with life. Business is business. They are too important to each other for scheduling in all sports to not bury the hatchet.

These all usually get settled for about 60% of the total fees.  So that’s likely where this ends up.  The PAC is going to pay based on their agreement and these schools will pay based on their membership agreements.

The PAC needs to scrounge up another $60 million to entice Tulane and Memphis or this whole scheme to leave the MW was just a giant waste of money. Which everyone else could see.

I was told that the Utags had raised the $17M and that the rest of the schools that stayed were just broke. 🤨

Yes but contracts can be voided if the penalties have no relation to the economic reality.

I agree, we will settle and pay something, but not the full amount.

Are all the former AAC schools that paid exit fees going to get a refund from the conference then? Why are the Pac going to kick in anything for Tulane/Memphis when exit fees are invalid, just have them sue and not pay anything. It's the NewPAC way.

No one had to tell you that you were broke. The fact that you destroyed half your stadium and couldn’t rebuild it is what told you that you were broke.
