Just a quick search brings up the Rayshard Brooks thread where you argued for five pages that he shouldn't have been shot. Passed out drunk in a drive through after driving drunk, fought with the cops, then ran......and you don't think he should have been shot. This guy who took Ivermectin certainly was stupid, especially since he was advocating for others to take it, but considering that there have only been 35 serious cases with ivermectin as the cause, 6 of those deaths, I have a hard time understanding how you can trace any of those deaths to this guy's actions (other than his own), yet 13,000 people died in DUI crashes in 2024, so Brooks was far more likely to cause the death of himself and other innocent drivers by doing so.

Interestingly, you also went on to say "if we are going to make progress we all (myself included or mostly) need to listen more, judge less"......I guess judging less went out in 2020?

That's just one example, but anyone who reads your posts here knows that what I said is true.

So you are going to throw instances of excessive force by cops into Darwin awards? Really?  And how does him falling asleep drunk in his car impact anyone else?  Please explain.

Get the feeling he doesnt know what the Darwin Awards are....

Astoundingly stupid judgment

[edit]

The candidate's foolishness must be unique and sensational, likely because the award is intended to be funny. A number of foolish but common activities, such as smoking in bed, are excluded from consideration. In contrast, self-immolation caused by smoking after being administered a flammable ointment in a hospital and specifically told not to smoke is grounds for nomination.[19] One "Honorable Mention" (a man who attempted suicide by swallowing nitroglycerin pills, and then tried to detonate them by running into a wall) is noted to be in this category, despite being intentional and self-inflicted (i.e. attempted suicide), which would normally disqualify the inductee.[20]

You think?!   Self Immolation is kind of a key point versus being shot and killed by another person.

He thinks he is making a point against me but grouping that act into Darwin awards is far more telling about him.  I was a bit shocked by his post.

Here we go. He wasn't asleep in his car, he was passed out in his car...with it running and in drive. How does him falling asleep in his car impact anyone else? Are you kidding me?? Ignoring for a second that he drove drunk to get there, which endangers everyone on the road, I can tell you from experience exactly what can happen in a situation like that. The drunk person finally comes to and their first reaction is to hit the gas and people get hurt or killed that way...that isn't a hypothetical, I've seen it happen. And like I said, you're celebrating the other guy's death for taking a drug, but blame this death on excessive force from cops....please. You've proven my point.

I know exactly what the Darwin Awards are, but the Wkipedia copy and paste is superior work on your part. The point being made, and backed up by his post, is that the guy committing crimes who dies doesn't qualify as astoundingly stupid judgement in Sactown's eyes, but rather that he's the victim of excessive force. So facepalm and move on.

Doesnt take much effort to be accurate.  You might want to take note of that.  And your point continues to be completely off the mark, as goal post moving usually is.

A whole lot of dumb on both sides with COVID.  I would say the left out did the right

The left didn't push Ivermectin, bleach, or other whacked out preventions or cures.

Distancing, hand washing, not coughing or sneezing in other people's faces does work.

Oh, give me a break with the "horses at risk" nonsense. You’re really going to sit there and act like this guy’s decisions caused some kind of equine crisis? That’s laughable. The man made bad choices, sure, but blaming him for everything from other people’s decisions to some imaginary plight of horses is just ridiculous.

And the "Darwin Award" stuff? Real classy. The guy is dead, and instead of making a real argument, you’re here celebrating it like it proves a point. Throwing in that he "didn’t leave kids fatherless" as some kind of consolation prize is just gross. If you actually care about bad information and dangerous choices, maybe focus on fixing the trust issues that push people to extremes instead of dancing on someone’s grave. But I guess that’s too much to ask when the priority is scoring cheap laughs.

It's the same as folk buying up otc diabetes med for weight loss.

It is a communications problem. The problem is that half the population only believes what DJT or RW social media tells them.

Quite shoving unhealthy food down your gullets and leave the meds for the conditions and those they were intended for.

You win.. You have permission to be an idiot and engage in stupid behavior. The only reason the world will notice is because you were nominated for a Darwin.

Oh, here we go again blaming Trump and right-wing media for everything under the sun. That’s the easy way out, huh? Maybe the real problem is the constant stream of fear and mixed messaging coming from the government and media that’s eroded trust. People are looking for answers because the so-called "experts" have been caught flip-flopping too many times to count.

And as for the diabetes meds, how about we hold Big Pharma and the FDA accountable for allowing off-label use to become a trend instead of blaming regular folks trying to improve their health? Maybe if the government didn’t meddle so much and actually focused on solving problems instead of creating more, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

But sure, keep pushing the narrative that anyone who doesn’t fall in line with your thinking must be brainwashed. Real productive.

I was going to post something similar. Ivermectin is, as StealthLobo pointed out above, used for some conditions in humans and it was certainly foolish to take it without a doctor's approval and thinking it was a cure all, but to celebrate his death is sad. From past threads, I seriously doubt that those celebrating this guy's death would say that "due to utter stupidity and his genes were not propagated", "Serves him right", or crime "has consequences." when someone committing a crime dies.

Exactly. It’s amazing how selective some people are with their outrage. If someone dies committing a crime, these same folks are the first to scream about “systemic failures” and how we need to be more compassionate. But when it’s someone who made a health decision they disagree with? Suddenly, it’s all jokes and Darwin Awards.

The truth is, the system failed a lot of people. If our institutions hadn’t destroyed trust with constant flip-flopping and censorship, maybe folks wouldn’t have felt the need to look for answers elsewhere. But mocking someone after they’ve died? That’s not justice, and it sure isn’t helping anyone.

We should be holding the people in power accountable, not laughing at the ones who got caught in the crossfire.

Oh, nice try, but I wasn’t talking about some guy who fell asleep in a drive-thru. Maybe read the posts before running your mouth. It’s funny how quick you are to twist things when you’ve got nothing real to say.

But hey, if mocking dead people makes you feel better about yourself, that says plenty. Keep hiding behind bad jokes and deflections.

Keep going with your fairy tales.  You're fooling nobody.

Oh, so now it’s fairy tales because I called out your nonsense? Funny, considering you’re the one making up stories about me talking about some guy in a drive-thru. Newsflash: that never happened. But I get it you’ve got nothing real to say, so you’re just throwing whatever sticks.

Keep dodging the point, though. Mocking a dead guy doesn’t make you clever, and twisting the conversation just makes you look desperate.

Oh, please. If calling out hypocrisy and refusing to celebrate someone’s death is "crashing out," then so be it. I’d rather stand by what I said than jump on some pathetic bandwagon to feel included.

But hey, if this is your idea of a win, congrats, I guess.

Those same people don’t generally get the concept.  Which makes it twice as fun.
