Y'all are in bed w/Grand Cyn & a UC school [not in LA or Berkeley] for God's sake. I know, but the PAC ain't P4 either which is the ultimate goal. If the PAC gets to that level we can go there whenever. I guess the one bad thing is if the PAC meddles in mid-major territory, and UNLV football falls on it's face the next 5 years. I don't see that happening, but weirder things have happened. In any case, UNLV is great shape right now. MWC is doing what they have to do for when the real shuffle happens in 5 years. UNLV and AF will be somewhere else once that happens. I guess the PAC might want to try to pull another school to get to at least a true conference level. Not many names out there left to pull from that will drive you into the P4 status. 1

Keep telling yourself your conf ship is not sinking... 1 1 1

You could say the same about Boise, they are now in the same "new" G5 conference with former dregs of the MWC...CSewe, Utard State, Fresneck, etc...
VincentVegaBond Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Wow, Awesome hire! Looking forward to see if Harper has the same clout when hiring a basketball coach! 1
AztecAlien Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Great hire for the Rebels. I'm very curious to see what the contract entails. Mullen signed an extension in 2021 and was to make 7.6 million a year at Florida. Previously before that extension, he made 6.1 million. 🤔

Why pay to stay the same especially when you can pay off debt and move in the next reshuffle or whenever you want with no exit fee? As for the NIL influx, thank the casinos which are starting to get behind it. They also have strong ties to the B12. Not saying that is in the cards, but it is the goal. Got 5 years to pull it off. If casinos are dishing up NIL money then you better believe they think it might be a possibility. In any case.......UNLV is in great shape for the next 5+ years. I like how PAC-State fans can't figure out that UNLV doesn't want the PAC. 2 1

LVCVA has been working with the casinos and other influential leaders in town to find a way to get casino money into NIL collectives. Casinos can't just hand over money for that. It is a process, but it is one that is happening and has been for the past year or so. It's a big reason Mullen agreed to come to UNLV. 2

Not sure if that's the correct way to go about it. But it's the way college football is heading, so why not take advantage.

I welcome any way UNLV can get casino money into NIL. 2

thelawlorfaithful Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I liked it better when a UNLV coaching search meant we got to watch our drunk friend swear he was going to land an Olympic ski jump. 1 2
