This just seems like unnecessary government secrecy.  I can only assume they know what is going on with them.  They should say they know and that they can't share the purpose.  If they don't know what they are doing up there, why are they still there?  This does not seem all that hard.

What are the objects in the sky then?  Because they are real.  What was the jellyfish UFO?

As to why come to earth?  Maybe monitoring life on other planets is one of the last remaining interesting things in the universe for such an advanced species.  Look how obsessed our planet is with the idea of alien life.  Why wouldn't they be?

my grandparents (and uncle) saw a giant UFO one night over Billings, Montana - said it was huge (roughly the size of the Rocky Mountain College campus), grey, quiet and had dirty/scratched windows - and it was gone as suddenly as it had appeared. All three were very educated, well respected individuals and none of the three of them so much as drank, so it wasn't like they were bombed. They called the Gazette after it flew off to report it and got laughed off the phone.

A few months later back in Akron, they ran into my grandma's cousin, who worked for the Star Wars program under Reagan. She used to walk around with a briefcase handcuffed to her arm with armed escorts. Anyway, they told her, and all she said was "Think about where you were at."

so take that for whatever you want it to mean. All I know is she and her husband eventually retired from whatever weird shit they did for the Government and bought an island in Belize and built a heavily fortified compound and their bizarre Christmas letters were the highlight of the Holiday Season each year.

That said, I saw a fair amount of weird, alien/UFOish shit driving around rural Central Montana (especially up around the nuke fields) as well as the mountainous areas near Wendover, Utah late at night over the years. Could make a list out but not sure its worth it as few would likely believe it anyway.

I grew up in New Jersey and a few have been spotted over my hometown on the Jersey Shore... a lot of people I know are freaking out about this.

Should they be? I don't know but to be fair we had a Lakehurst Naval Air Station a short drive from where we grew up. I'd have big freaking planes flying over my house at all hours of the night on final approach in to what used to be called Ft Dix as well. Some people say it's military related and I'd be inclined to believe them but why a massively populated area where you can't as much as shit and not have someone be on top of you as opposed to places like The Dakotas, Wyoming or Nevada ?

I believe other intelligent lifeforms exist out side of our galaxy. But I'm not buying the alien theory on this one. I'm willing to bet that the new sightings recently taking place in other parts of the country are just people messing around by putting different lights on large drones and flying them around. Especially since the government has come out and stated do not try and shoot them down. The original sightings over New Jersey seem like some type of private or government testing, and the government/military is playing the we don't know game for the sake of possibly being embarrassed. It's messed up in some way, but rather humorous in a baffling sort of way as well. JMO.

They need to stop hitting that titty bar up on Venus on the way here.

My wife thought the evening star was a UFO the other night because of all the conspiracies going around.

I never researched it much and was hesitant to believe in aliens until I read an article about a sighting in the midwest some time ago. Lit up objects that accelerated and changed direction in a manner no human aircraft could possibly duplicate, plus there were no aircraft operating in the area at the time. It was observed over a several hour period and reported by something like 300 individual people over  a 25-50 mile area and caught on radar. There was no logical explanation for the sightings.

Kind of scary when you think about it, but so far they haven’t been aggressive which is another good reason to not take aggressive action against them.

Regarding NJ I think the government knows what’s going on but won’t report it for whatever reason.

Not saying these UFO/aliens don't exist, but take a look of a map that plots UFO sightings around the world.  Either they are only interested in the U.S. and Britain, or maybe we have a cultural contagion around it.

Late uncle who was retired Air Force told me this about his experiences. He was in charge of security on a nuke capable delivery base in the  1970's( Dakotas or somewhere close as far as I could tell, he never told exactly where he was stationed).

Large object that reminded him of the moon in size because it dominated the sky hovering over the site on numerous occasions. It would appear then dissappear.

Security alert on the perimeter...in his words " spindly armed and legged individuals about 8 foot tall" security detail started to approach and "they dissappeared"....

Certain systems would go silent in the control rooms. No reason...but would resume function after 'anomolies' were no longer in view.

I should add, he did not like talking about this.

If you're occupied by the prospect of your enduring superstitions potentially becoming reality, then you're unoccupied by the kleptocracy behind them.

When you have a moment, can you expand on this?

Obviously, there are different types of drones, and we have no idea what type is appearing over NJ and elsewhere.

I'm sure it's relatively easy for defense systems to shoot down the winged straight line airplane like models that Iran has been using and selling to Russia. How would a defense system handle a relatively small, say 3-5 feet wide, electric drone made out of composite material which can quickly move in three dimensions. Would such a small craft show up on radar or have a discernable heat signature?

These drones still have a radar cross section, they can be seen. Without getting into anything that can get me into trouble, we have developed a pretty robust anti drone program that the Marine Corps is extensively testing.

With the Biden administration's recent remarks downplaying the threat and claiming a "slight overreaction," it's starting to look more and more like a classified exercise. However, I have inside information that the aliens are none too happy about taking some heat once again.
