Heh, awful. Gin and wine are the best though!

Can you take a pic next time you’re in a liquor store, just curious what the selection looks like.

Thanks. Was going to explain that to him. In the US it's got very easy to do the routine: get rx, make sure it's safe, fill rx, give to pt. Here I meet the patient and do hours of clinical study to help the doctor with the best possible therapy to help them get better quicker. It's so much more rewarding and I love doing it

Also, I don't take too much to heart from a guy who "flexes" about being on only fans and his weird girls with weird tattoos while berating his friends. Seems like you've forgiven him though, so that's big on you.

I think your admission you were not doing your best because you did not like the patients would be fascinating to some people...

Will do. I've glanced at some of the scotches and I've seen they are way more expensive.

Kiwis are indeed a very pleasant people. Glad you’re enjoying living in NZ. You live north or South Island?

North Island. Absolutely loving it. I've never felt so fulfilled with life/work balance and as I mentioned the appreciation and kindness from patients.

If you get an asshole patient maybe somebody like me, will you intentionally provide worse care?

Inquiring minds.

Trout fishing…

My boss and her husband are huge trout fishers and have offered to take us out to show us the ropes after we're settled. Definitely stoked to finally they it out.

Meh, I've seen Germans, Canadians, French, Mexican, etc tourists all be assholes.  Germans were the worst because I could understand the rude pretentious asshole comments they only said amongst each other in German.

And how many thousands of patients had worse medical outcomes because you just didn't like them?  By your own words?

Go, it’s fantastic - though I think the South Island has the better fishing. Small stream sight fishing for big browns is incredible.

You are whiney, greedy, self-absorbed, self-righteous pricks. ;)

In all honesty though, we've lived overseas now in NZ for a 3 months and it's pretty "culture-shocking" experiencing first hand the differences with day-to-day living, healthcare needs and concerns, and recreational activities.

Your average, walking down the street, shopping at the supermarket, day-to-day people are absolutely wonderful, but I already knew that from when I visited.

However, what I didn't expect was the unhealthy, deserve to be unhappy, patients. I have never had this much appreciation and overally niceness in my entire career. Both me and my partner (ER nurse) are blown away how we are treated here vs the US. It has actually motivated me to go above and beyond, do more research, and try to the best of my abilities  to get my patient to their best possible outcome.

I'm not saying all Americans in need of health and medical care are bad (except in my original line, sorry), but it has developed into such a state that it's hard for your avg  medical worker to care. I'd like to say the few ruin it for the many, but it definitely felt like the many ruined it for the few when we were there.

Unrelated, but the only reason I even decided to post what's been on my mind now, was because we ran into an American lady at a restaurant tonight who grabbed onto us as her best friends once she heard our accent.

However, she was constantly berating the staff, sent her order back twice, and complained about every little thing. "Typical American". The whole situation just reminded us how fortunate we are to live here.

Typical Americans don't go on vacations to New Zealand.

Typical Americans have never even thought to apply for a passport.

Changing. As of this year 51% of Americans now have a passport.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/news/2024/10/23/state-department-issues-record-us-passports/75794556007/

Some of the passport growth is probably due to large groups of Americans deciding they want to go on a booze/buffet cruise to Mexico or the Caribbean on one of the amusement park mega-ships.

Yeah probably depends where you go. I've spent a lot of time in Asia and the American tourists you meet out there are typically way more respectful towards the locals than European/British tourists can be. Depends a lot on class, education level, personality anyway.

And Chinese/Indian/Arab/Russian tourists can also all be really bad in their own ways too.

Ya, I don't know where he came up with that. Pharmacists in the US make like $100k - $150k. I make like half that here in NZ...

Got to love the anit-American BS being thrown around. Stand up for We the People or leave as some have. Your opinions shouldn't count anymore. Numbers mean everything. Corporate bureaucrats are running this country. Stand up.

I'll ask, are you allright with what the insurance industry is all of sudden sweating?

And when is that ship leaving to pick up those people that are late from 2016 that I thought were leaving? We can also join the 2016 cowards with people that we thought were leaving in 2024 and save some money.

So as a health provider you did less than your best while stateside?  Really?  And came her to flex about your new found life?  Why didn't you do your best for your patients here?  Their attitude should not play any role.

Gross.

Get fucked I'm glad you are gone.

I can't imagine being such a pretentious dick wad you admit to not doing your best as a doctor who was payed REALLY well...

Talk about being a whiny, greedy self absorbed prick...you are literally admitting as a doctor here you did not do your best.

This is maybe the most disgusting post I have ever read.

Enjoy your roasted lamb....

WOW - @halfmanhalfbronco is in the house to provide a perfect example of the Ugly American.
