I’m really confused why you are so combative about this. Barely anybody was posting about this, but you’re making it seem like it’s a 10 page thread with a ton of different people being “hyperbolic”. If you hadn’t started arguing with people this thread might not have even went to a second page, and certainly wouldn’t be on a third.

Smart people should stop believing dumb things.

"Don't believe what is common sense and logical", you know, like Ukraine not winning a war of attrition against Russia, COVID origins, masking and social distancing.

The people who think they are smart swallowing whole absolutely insane bullshit bothers me and then have the audacity to cry about gullable MAGA.

I care about a topic in which a first world US backed democracy orders Marshall law.  I care otherwise smart people bought into stupid talking points and completely disregarded logic.  Does anyone actually believe that the military was ACTUALLY trying to stop the vote?  Come oooonnn.

In another day of high drama, a number of lawmakers left parliament ahead of the vote to impeach President Yoon over his decision to impose a short-lived period of martial law earlier this week. Just two remained inside while the one governing lawmaker who returned voted against the motion.

Thank goodness this one survived.  But the army could have chosen differently.  

Trump won't have to overthrow the govt to stay in power for another 4+ years. If you guys don't rig the election to prevent the Don Jr./J.D. Vance ticket from winning in '28, it'll like nothing happened for most of us. Yeah, some of you guys will be in work camps. But it's not like you haven't been begging for it the last decade.

No, what it should be about is a fledgling democracy was able to prove their system of checks and balances work.  It should be about a military ordereded to perform functions that were were not constitutional, and ultimately deciding to defy those orders.  They let everyone in without harm, even with some confused grunts not sure what to do, but ultimately defying unconstitutional orders.
