Considering our season, losing only 3 players to the portal is unexpected. Now we need to see how the staff does going forward with this.

It will be interesting to see if Sawvel turns out to be a good hire. Some promising signs at the end of the season.

That’s not accurate.  We already know of 5 players who have announced (including TK King and Jaden Williams).  I’d expect more.

Hawaii has more players in the portal than what ON3 says. The only surprising ones are Crowdus, Perry and Hines but they all didn't have the numbers they could be capable of and were more RB2/RB3 or WR3/WR4. Sagapolutele kind of cemented his spot as backup with the last two games and how Alejado did when in, so probably was best for him to leave. The rest haven't been getting much playing time or not really vital. Next season will be Timmy's deciding year where its likely he either make a bowl or gets let go, so most of the players he brings in from the portal/JC will end up being ones that should have an immediate impact next season and not be ones that would be ready after a RS year.

Some transfers happened earlier -- The tracking on the 1st page is players entering from Nov 12 on - Since by them most of the season 

UNLV's Matt Sluka opted out back in October, but he's not on the UNLV list 

Players might announce, then wait to enter or even have 2nd thoughts & not enter -- It's a fluid process and not easy to track -- which I why I'm only using the one website as my data source

I could very well see Sluka headed back to FCS, due to his very public breakup and quitting mid year it might keep more then a few FBS schools from picking him up.

The narrative that the transfer portal will be a net positive for G5 programs is some serious head in the sand shit.

King and Williams hadn’t left the team to my knowledge until this week.  King was injured the last 2 games and Williams played both.

Yeah - Don't think Sluka did himself any favors with that situation & sudden departure -- Plus he had a low completion % at UNLV, so his passing could be a question

Wasn’t this his final year anyway? Cutting and running before the 4th game allows him to play another year that he wouldn’t have been eligible for if he stayed.

Yep - thats why he bailed after the 4th game or so -- so he could play another year
