It's not a government department.

Department of Government Efficiency[a] (DOGE[b]) refers to a planned United States presidential advisory commission announced by president-elect Donald Trump in preparation for his second term as U.S. president. It will be led by the billionaire businessmen Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. Despite its name, DOGE is not intended to function as a federal executive department, the creation of which would require the approval of the U.S. Congress; instead, it will serve as an advisory body making recommendations on streamlining the U.S. federal government and reducing inefficiency.[4]

This commission is similar to attempts before it, including President Theodore Roosevelt's Keep Commission, President Ronald Reagan's appointment of J. Peter Grace to lead the Grace Commission, and Vice President Al Gore's National Partnership for Reinventing Government.

Still the point remains, an extra department (commission or group) to evaluate government excess.

Not really, unless you think way to do things better just pop up and say 'here I am!!!'

My issue isnt with the idea of a commission, but who's running it.  A classic fox in charge of the hen house.

Of course.  It's essentially just BS and grift.  But all the fanboys will buy into it.

The govt definitely needs some evaluations in terms of efficiency.  I'm sure there are tons of military contracts that are over budget and past deadlines that should probably have been canceled.  NASA's SLS program probably needs to be canceled, but in reality it was a stupid program to begin with that was more concerned with maintaining existing space shuttle jobs, not innovating rocket design or actually going back to the moon.  Having someone who hasn't divested his holdings into a trust probably shouldn't be the one pushing govt to offload work his companies are poised to pick up.

Remember when everyone cried and cried and predicted doom when Musk fired a shit ton of people from Twitter?  Works just fine...

We don't need any of these useless positions.  Government will run smoother without fucking jobs like  "director of climate diversity" mucking up bills.

Nobody does efficiency like Elon.  Loving this.

It's literally not doxxing.  it's being transparent, which is refreshing in politics. He could have listed the positions being cut and anybody could then just google the names.  The horror.

Imagine being upset that ususeless bureaucratic positions are being cut.

And him wanting to halt the insanely stupid two trillion dollar F35 program in favor of cheaper, deadlier unmaned craft is again proving he is being utilized properly.

Now go cry more lolololol

Please.  He just wants to see the tech and make $$.
