Both the Aztecs and Ducks are coming off impressive wins in their first game.

The Ducks came from 10 points down by forcing TA&M into missing their last eleven shots and 17 of 19 down the stretch.

The Aztecs are 58-16 in Vegas since 2009-2010.

Edit- Aztecs get out rebounded 46-25 and lose to the Ducks 78-68.

That ended up being the difference in the game. 41-24 rebounding advantage and 18-4 advantage in 2nd chance points for the Ducks.

I had slightly different stats, but yeah. I also don't have a MAX subscription, so I couldn't watch the game. Just followed it on my phone. It looks like the Aztecs shot the ball pretty well, though.

The rest of the game was very well contested.  Davis, Boyd, Byrd all had good games. The rebound margin killed the Aztecs today.

ESPN's stats are totally broken this year, for football as well. Their tables aren't udpating properly.

Like last season, poor rebounding will be this Teams Achilles heel..

That and the free throw differential killed them.  The Ducks were 18-26. The Aztecs 4-8. They also missed the front end of three one and ones. 

 

I do like this team a lot. They are simply lacking the size to compete on the Boards.  They have a true Frosh in Pharaoh Compton playing the five. He is 255 lbs, but he is only 6'8. The rest of their front line is small as well. Magoon despite being a 7' shot blocking machine, is rail thin. Hell, I could move him off the blocks.

It's early.  From what I see this may be the your best SDSU team ever, and they have had some good ones.  Of course, they are young & need to develop further but they have more talent this year from top to bottom than ever.

The worst part is that most of the games have ended up being blowouts. We’re going to do either UNM or Utah State on Friday; waiting on the matchups.
