I just don't see any MWC coaches wanting to jump into that NCAA cesspool right now, including those two but they seem to be the guys looking for jobs. In terms of Coaches looking for jobs, that is true. However, why would anyone want either? 1

aggieblueballs Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I can 100% confirm Jay Hill, Bronco and Ken Niumatalolo all interviewed for the job and were in the final 6. My understanding is that we have offered Jay Hill and he gave Utah State a checklist that needs to be met for him to accept the job including a top 5 Pac NIL pool. A significant increase in assistant coaches $ pool. I was told we should hear an announcement by December 7th. Sources are very good. 3 1 1 1
Headbutt Posted November 26 Posted November 26 It wouldn't seem that USU would be a very easy place to recruit to right now with their NCAA and now legal issues. I hope they get a good one, but that other stuff has to matter.

If a kid makes money and gets PT, I could see a lot of kids blowing off legal issues. 2

We just pulled in a top 40 class. @Wyobraskais right, most kids don't care. https://247sports.com/Season/2025-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings/ 2
Headbutt Posted November 26 Posted November 26 My bad. I meant recruiting "coaches". I'm sure the players couldn't give a crap. A coach has to wonder if he's walking into possible post-season bans, scholarship or recruiting day reductions, etc. It was mentioned when USU announced that they're joining the Pac, that Pac bylaws prohibit adding a team under NCAA investigation. I can't confirm that, and it may not be in the new bylaws, but there are things a prospective coach has to think about.

It might affect that side of things, but from what I've heard (might be BS) USU is offering 1.2-1.7 mm a year for the gig.

I am sure it could happen but coach Ken getting a job at USU feels like a stretch. His buyout is 6 million and he is making 1.5 million base. More than your previous HC was making, plus USU is on the hook for a big chunk of change in exit fee’s. Not that coaches tell the truth on this but there have been some insiders at SJSU saying he didn’t interview. 2

Seems legit. 😂 1 7

aggieblueballs Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Let's see how this plays out. I think you'll see I'm spot on. And then I might post some proof just for fun. I've heard we are willing to pay 2 million for our coach. Exit fees are being paid by a donor --non issue. I'm sorry about MWC breakup i enjoyed the regional rivalries but there is now a separation between programs and Pac teams will poach MWC if they want. Pac will make double what mountain west will. Coaches know this. All these coaches are LDS and would fit culture and run very clean programs. What USU is looking for. Bronco is a close 2nd choice is what I've heard. 1 1
aggieblueballs Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Top 5 assuming mutiple additions which will happen. Our NIL will be much higher than MW teams.Seperation is happening. I'm already seeing it. 1

There is New Mexico st, Sac State …. That is some definite separation. 1 6

Dealwit Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Bronco, never interviewed for the USU job. USU showed interest and requested to speak with him, however Bronco decided against it. He has a 3 million buy out in year one, which goes down to 2 million in year two.

Wrong he has interviewed and is still a very high possibility if Jay Hill doesn't pan out. I have a person close to me on Utah states board of directors. After things work themselves out I will provide something you will find interesting. 1 1
