Congress, Obama, and Biden have shoved dumb shit down the throats of the military. COVID Vaccination mandates, women in combat arms MOS's, gender identity garbage that if done renders the service member non-deployable. The only pushback has come from the Marine Corps. To this day they refuse to integrate recruit training platoons, they have refused to lower the standards for combat arms jobs. If Trump starts firing General Officers, he will be doing the same damn thing the Dems have done. But Trump is a moron, so he will likely do it.

Some of it is dumb.  Some of it might make more sense if you had a stand alone Cyber Command where you really don’t give a shit about body type.  Potentially the same for piloting drones.  Quite frankly if someone is a good hacker or defensive hacker I don’t give a shit if they are deployable.  Part of the problem is hosting that shit within the Army where you want everyone deployable.  
 

That being said none of that was ignoring the code of justice or deploying troops against US Citizens.

No, but it has degraded readiness. At the end of the day, the military exists to do two things. Kill bad guys, and break their stuff. That's it. If you can't deploy, you have no fucking business being in. It's not the fucking Boy Scouts.

Yeah except your opinion of breaking stuff is dated.  If I can get into their computer systems I can break a shit load of stuff.  Ask @retrofade what can be done.
 

Sorry but a top level hacker who can penetrate opposing systems is a fuck load more valuable than another grunt that can meet the minimum physical requirements.  
 

The problem is the Army has too wide a range of missions.  The Marines do not which is why they can push back.  You have to have those top level Cyber people.  But I agree you don’t want them deployed on a physical mission.  As you well know the Army can deploy people all over.  You need the Cyber people out of the Army.

I never served but many in my family have and I totally love this take. At the end of the day I want my military to fuck up the enemy. Even though I support gay and trans rights I don't give a shit about that if you're in the military. You are there to do a job, leave your identity politics at the door before you enter Ft Jackson or Great Lakes.

At the end of the day I want my military to win.  If you lose the Cyber battle badly those guys you deployed are going to get fucked up badly no matter how many pushups they can do or miles they can run.

If your best cyber attacker or defender is gay or trans you desperately want them regardless.  You have to get them to join and they are not joining an Army hostile to them.   

if you assigned a value to them a top level cyber warrior is orders of magnitude more valuable than a regular operator.

I don't disagree with any of that and I live around a few military guys all in West Pac and while we don't generally discuss politics in the real world these guys don't care if someone is gay. They care that they can do the job, now these assholes Trump is going to let run amok of our military absolutely could keep people who are very good out because of their ridiculous insecurities. I think you and I are on the same page here.
