KingSpartan Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I bet if they lit some fireworks they wouldn't notice the field. 6
OldPac10Fan Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Forgive my ignorance, but why does the stadium not have turf instead of grass? 1
Headbutt Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Not sure, but I don't believe turf is an option for professional soccer.

Spaztecs Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Time to fire the Head Groundskeeper. There's a good chance the field won't be ready for the Holiday Bowl. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/2024/11/01/citing-poor-field-conditions-san-diego-wave-fc-moves-final-game-from-snapdragon-stadium/

We're going to need a prayer circle for SDSU and UNM's knees and ankles on Friday.
Jersey Rebels Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Never been to Snapdragon before. Is it nice? Does it have an IKEA? 2
AztecAlien Posted November 2 Posted November 2 It might help if SDSU didn't allow so many different events to be played at Snapdragon on a natural grass surface in order to raise money. I mean seriously. Football, soccer, rugby, flag football, lacrosse, field hockey, lawn bowling, bocce ball, tennis, badminton, cricket, ultimate frisbee, quarter horse racing, and whatever else. 4

TheTedfordTrain Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Lol. SDSU’s turf has really become a thing this year.

Before field turf, we basically played all high school football games on dirt and mud by October/November. The Raiders were playing on a baseball infield. 1

If SDSU was capable of putting a decent product on the field, they wouldn't have to rent out Snappy to make the mortgage payment. I have read a couple of articles. The biggest issue was replacing the turf to soon. The goal was to get it established and lush for the Holiday Bowl. They put in a cool weather turf and the weather stayed warm. Which prevented the turf from taking root. Coupled with the heavy usage, what you see is what you get. It's a bad look all around. For the grounds crew, the AD, and the University. Maybe it is time to move on from the School Prez and Athletic Director ?
