Sac State is making a lot of noise. A three phase plan to renovate their stadium starts this year.

Liberty with all their money buying their way in as an independent wasn’t surprising. Sac State raising that kind of money would be pretty wild. But hey, if they can pull it off more power to them. In that scenario @Spaztecs pitch about them joining the WAC would make sense if it gets them to FBS.

Here's the thing.  For Spaz's scenario to work, the WAC has to stay together.  In addition to rumblings of the Summit raiding WAC, there's rumblings of the Big West making a play for both Utah Valley and Cal Baptist.  The Missouri Valley could make a play for UTA.

I didn't read it that way. I read it that Canzano thinks both Nevada schools should be the nPAC's primary targets rather than Memphis, Tulane or TXST. It also appears that Canzano doesn't fully understand how much less TXST's exit fee from the Sun Belt would be than the Nevada schools' exit fee, first born son and daughter, et al that TH Mountain West Conference would seek from them.

Sac State clearly wants to be FBS. If they have the opportunity to buy their way into FBS as an independent, I think they will do it even if it means joining the unstable WAC. I personally think that would be a bad move on their part, but obviously I don’t run things at Sac state. I’m skeptical they will be able to move up as an independent, but we will see.

A league circling the drain, another league who seemingly doesn't want them.  And the two local FBS leagues who look down on them.

Maybe the answer is C-USA as a full member?

Yeah there are a lot of rumors that WAC is about to cease to exist. Which is too bad because it would be perfect for Sac State if they're an FBS independent. 

I just can't imagine where SUU and Utah Tech will end up. Being an independent for all sports in D1 isn't easy.

"Would seek from them", meaning "that they agreed to pay."

I do think that could end up a real option for them. CUSA is going to lose at least one member to the SBC, assuming Texas State heads to the Pac. But it’s also entirely possible they lose a couple schools to the MAC too. Tarleton and Sac could be a couple of the replacements.
