Delusion.  Losing to UC Davis and getting mud stomped by Montana State, is not a ‘mid MWC team.’   I was at the game.  That Idaho team played with heart but wouldn’t have been competitive with a Craig Bohl coached Wyoming team no matter who your QB is.  
 

You beat the worst Wyoming team of my lifetime.  Is that really a proud moment?

Maybe because when Idaho did play D1 football in the modern era it had 5 winning seasons in 22 years in the sun belt, big west and wac?

I like and follow Wyoming, Nevada, USU and sometimes Donkey.  This sorta sucks, but you started chirping.  You can bizarrely brag about how crappy your team is this year, but the fact of the matter is that we beat you without our  QB1 and QB2 was playing while injured.  Half of our OL were backups and most of our DL was playing through injury.  Despite this, the Pokes still lost to an FCS school.  #5 Davis would have slapped your mama and #2 Montana State would have demolished Wyoming and most of the MWC.  

Your response? "If Craig Bohl was still coach, we would have won." That's weak sauce. It's akin to a BSU fan saying, "We would have won if we had Coach Pete." The fact is that you don't have Bohl. An FBS team should be able to beat an FCS team, and Wyoming failed its assignment.

This academic exercise is pointless nonetheless.  Idaho chose to be an FCS team, it is apparently happy there and to my knowledge there’s been no discussions of adding them to any current FBS conference.

Reality:

There is no academic exercise aside from you losing at home, in your own house, to a FCS squad, who was playing their backup QB.

Be a bit more friendly - Wyoming is a realignment move or two away from being homeless so you might need all the friends you can get.

There are very few Wyoming fans you need to convince just how bad the football program was destroyed in one offseason by the new coaching staff and just how bad this Wyoming football team is this year.  Frankly, there are probably only about 30 or so FCS teams this Wyoming staff would likely beat. I might actually be too generous on that.  
 

I agree - we got beat at home by a relatively marginal to decent FCS squad.  Such a loss should be unacceptable on all levels.  It’s embarrassing.  And what is more embarrassing is that we won’t even be able to fire the new head coach for it this year because our AD offered an absolutely absurd contract to a guy with no head coaching and experience and who literally no one was after without even conducting a search.  
 

Yes - Wyoming sucks really really bad.  No Idaho would not be in the upper half of a MWC littered with other really bad teams this year (Utah State, Air Force).  But Idaho isn’t in the MWC and there is no discussion of Idaho joining the MWC for the foreseeable future…thus the completely academic exercise.

Considering the one time they've been full healthy this year they gave the current #1 ranked FBS team all they could handle, I'm going to have to disagree.

The current bottom 6 teams of the MWC (Hawaii, UNM, USU, Nevada, Air Force, WYO) a fully healthy Vandals team could/have beat. I even like their chances vs SJSU and SDSU this season.

Montana and (spit) Montana State would be rather solid in the MWC as well.  Some very, very good football gets played in the Big Sky.  I haven't really checked, but I think Big Sky generally does rather well against mid-majors.

Having said that, the cost is a joke - $5 million just to move your team from the FCS column to the FBS column. And the benefit? No playoff, no chance at a natty, almost zero chance of a meaningful bowl game, no more easy streaming options, getting the high hat from P4 programs, the constant threat of realignment and expenses that absolutely skyrocket.  The G5, as it is now, is not a step up for any Big Sky team.  That could change tomorrow; I'm just talking about right now.  Without a fair playoff, the G5 is going to flounder.  

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play MWC schools regularly and I think if we're looking at the purity of the game and peer institutions, a mashup of the "snow belt" and the MWC could be a great conference and if there was a fair playoff involved it could be magnificent.

I just saw this on Twitter. Is this common knowledge?

The PAC was only willing to pay for the poaching fees and saddled the former MWC schools with their own exit fees. But now the PAC is suing to get out of paying the poaching fees, so they in theory don't want to pay for anything?

I’ll say the obvious, with the PAC’s northwestern center of gravity, the Montana schools make more sense for them. 
 

With the MW’s Southwestern center of gravity, GCU makes a lot of sense.

The MW is awful this year (and the past few) outside of Boise and UNLV. I have no doubt that Idaho and the top of FCS would be in the middle of the MW and fighting for bowl eligibility.
