Why you gotta say something like that perfectly reasonable and impossible to argue against?  I was having fun.

Of course you are right, people are people everywhere, and especially in Southern California which is it's own universe.

One thing has always made me curious.  If I tell a bay area person I live in Visalia, more often than not, they know it's a town south of Fresno in the San Joaquin Valley, that they look down on.  If I tell a person from Southern California I am from Visalia, there is a greater than 50% chance they have never heard of it.  I might as well be from some random town in Nebraska.  But they don't look down on me, they just don't care.  Anything north of Magic Mountain is not their ecosystem.

San Diego is a beautiful city obviously.  And the LA metro, for all it's flaws, is a really cool place as well.  I love southern california, I really do.  The Bay Area, I don't know the freeways as well, and the people are a little different.  Not worse or better, it's just a little different, and since I've never lived there, I feel more comfortable in SoCal.

I think ignorance of the Central Valley on the part of southern Californians is a result of there not really being a reason to travel there. If they’re traveling to Northern California and take the 5 they really don’t see towns or anything of note. Frankly it’s such a boring drive a lot of people, myself included, take 101 even though it takes longer because it’s more interesting and there are better places to stop. So southerners don’t really see the towns in the Valley. I think Bay Area residents are more familiar with the Valley because of the proximity of Sacramento and, probably more importantly, they access the Sierras (Yosemite, Tahoe, Mammoth, Sequoia) via the Valley. People from SoCal access the Sierras from the east side via the 395. They know about Ridgecrest, Bishop and Lone Pine.

P.S.  Game was a bummer. Pads really couldn’t have asked any more from Darvish. Offense just disappeared the last two games.

Let's hope the Dodgers don't shit the bed again, though the Mets have been the best team since June. A Dodgers vs Yankees sounds nice. A Mets vs Tigers/Guardians sounds just awful.

I don’t think they have anywhere near enough starting pitching to win a longer series. You can’t make every game a bullpen game.

Lulz. And that's why no one likes you cuntmonkeys. 🙄 Enjoy living in your bum cum-stained shithole of a concrete homeless encampment. SD is an absolute paradise compared to the crackhead's supersized prolapsed colon that is LA. Now get back to workin yer corner in WeHo. A Padres fan will be by to collect your tears in another few hours.

You’re just like the Padres players, low class clowns running their mouths all the time and losing when it matters to big brother. 😅😅😅

A hundred percent on how SoCalers travel to the Bay Area. The scenic Central Coast route has much more to offer. Stopping for lunch in Santa Barbara, SLO or Paso Robles is much more appealing than doing the same in Bakersfield, Tulare or Coalinga.

Let alone traveling during the summer and fall. PCH and the 101 are much cooler...in every sense of the word.

The labels for the regions add to it; Central Coast and Central Valley. One sounds like a destination. The other, like a drive-by location.

I recently mentioned to my wife about going for lunch to Bakersfield and checking out the area. She scoffed at me. Yet, she enjoys our lunch outings to Riverside. Go figure.

Great series. The Dodgers didn't win easily. They had to earn it. Aztec hoops are only days away at this point. Something to look forward to.

One of my favorite places to visit in Los Angeles is the La Brea Tar Pits.

I went as a kid and just went again 6 mos. ago.  The 3d animated shows they have in there are absolutely mind blowing.  It's definitely worth the ticket.  Highly recommend.

Anyone check on Yermom69 yet?  Did he do a swan dive off the Coronado bridge?

He’s probably nursing one huge headache. 24 straight zeros will do that to you.

The 395 south to north is a beautiful drive.  We go out of our way to take that instead of the 5, which is awful.

Yeah it’s absolutely gorgeous but it’s a bitch in the winter. I do love the back side of the Sierra though.

the 5 through the Central Valley is one of the most obnoxious roadways in the US. 99 isn’t great but at least there’s towns to drive through lol.
