It’s almost like some of us said this shit was going to happen after Roe was overturned. The conservatives all said that response was hysteria.

To be honest, I never thought it could get this bad. I was wrong.

"...public sentiment on a variety of cultural issues has drifted leftward. And so, in an effort to impose their values, Republicans have turned to invasive forms of coercion."

The fake Evangelical Christians are weird AF man.

That's a pretty shocking article. Does a good job of putting into words the cacophony of thoughts that have surrounded the issues of CRT, women's health, and LGBTQIA+ issues that have been deeply politicized.

I'm a firm believer in "keep your nose out of other peoples' business". If my co-worker is trans it has zero effect on me. If my library has a book that offends someone who is very vocal they are free to not read it. If my sister-in-law has a pregnancy that she has to terminate I will support her and love her the same way I would have if she had another baby. It's insane to me that people think they should tell other people what they may or may not do when it does zero harm to anyone else.

I was roommates with a total flamer for a couple of years in Vegas.  It was great.  Hot females all around and a super clean apartment.

If Trump wins it is going to get much much worse.  The people who restrained him are out of the picture.

Not sure why @Supersix reacted to this post.  You had Trump cabinet members like Mattis and Mark Esper who repeatedly told Trump certain actions were unconstitutional.  Mark Esper now calls Trump a threat to Democracy.

the last 8 years will be child’s play compared to the coming 4 years if Trump gets re-elected.

And, it will take decades to undo the damage.

It's taken ~40 years of hardcore RW extremist propaganda, political manipulation by billionaires and gerrymandering to get to this precipice. Once  Trump is elected, they will do everything under the sun to lock in their power.

Trump has promised to surrender a lot of Federal Power to the States. It's their political wet dream to run their fiefdoms without Uncle Sam looking over their shoulders telling them they can't turn those they consider "other" into non-citizens. Or dump toxic shit into the river without penalty. Or hire minors at low wages and unsafe conditions to work their shitty jobs. Or enslave women as fetus carriers.

But hey, what white conservative American wants, so they shall have.

The Gestapo didn't have a lot of agents in the field spying on people. They relied upon the good Citizens of the Reich to make the accusations for them. They simply made the arrest, beat a confession out of you, then turned you over to the highly biased Courts.

The only thing new under the sun is the technology and newer methods used to oppress the masses.

I guess the trip to Gitmo that my cousin promised was coming for me was only delayed by a few years.
