Who knows what comes of this.  I still think those that think the B1G and SEC are thinking to break away for football on their own without significant ACC and Big XII schools are dead wrong.  There is far too much value in the ACC and Big XII footprint to walk away from.  Whether 72 is the actual number in the end it will likely be greater than 60.

How many schools are in the P4 out of curiosity? I’m too lazy to count and maybe someone knows???

Football alone is affecting the other sports and it's time to isolate football from the rest of the sports.

Yes, exactly. Football should be treated differently. It’s stupid for Cal to send their swim and dive team to Clemson, Wake, Florida State, and BC.

It's interesting how the CSFL would work reading the proposal.

Only involving Football, everything else can go back to regional conference play.

All current FBS schools would be part of the CSFL

Power 12 Conference = 72 Schools

Group of 8 Conference = 64 Schools+

Top 8 "Group of 8" Schools have the ability to play into the Power 12 Conference for the following year. Allowing promotion without relegation.

Don't let Boise and SUDS fans see that graphic....

I’d assume those graphics only serve as an example based on the current model. If they’re going to make a new division, it shouldn’t be initially based upon historical affiliation. For example, why the hell would Vanderbilt be in that division as opposed to a Boise.

The without relegation is the insidious part of this entire proposal!

Then the G8 schools go back to G8-land while schools like Vanderbilt remain in the P12?

How tf do you do promotion w/o relegation? Eventually everyone is in the top division again. Am I taking crazy pills?

I don't think the bottom tier ever moves up permanently.  It seems like the champions from each of the 8 divisions in the lower tier become a division of 8 for one year in the upper tier and return to the lower divisions after that year.....
