Arguably my all time favorite thing came up during the Bundy deal at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge standoff. Some redneck MAGA tard said he'd get there to help as soon as he got his government check to pay for his gas.

I do think those people are voting on tariffs also.  To be fair the working class has been decimated by the global economy and Dems have no solution to propose for it.

Fair but doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s the party of aggrieved hillbillies these days.

It reminds me of something from Parks and Recreation... to paraphrase slightly, "Why should I help anyone with the hard-earned money from my unemployment check?"

I struggle with this whole concept because I think these people have a valid complaint but I also think they are being conned by Trump who only cares about how many dollars he can leverage the Presidency to accumulate.   

I think a lot of these people legitimately want to get off the government dole and have meaningful work.  They are stuck between a patronizing Dem Party offering more hand-outs and a Con man in Trump.

Dolton is hardly inner city - my grandparents lived there for about 30 years and 2 of my cousins attended Thornridge.  But yeah, she's a piece of work.  Grifter in training if you will.

The dem party is offering free college to help people help Themselves.  They’re offering childcare to help people get to work. They’re offering universal healthcare which encourages people who rely on work healthcare to quit and start a business. I’m so sick of this “democrats just run on food stamps” bullshit (as if feeding people is bad).

The free college idea is just dumb imho.  The rest I’m on board with for the most part.  Get a damn degree you can make money with.

Free college just cheapens a BA. I’m not opposed to government subsidies like Pell grants or free community college but if a BA is free then it essentially becomes a HS Diploma. 
 

not that’s it’s something I necessarily worry about with multiple professional degrees but I still think it’s a slippery slope.

Florida (and I believe a lot of other states) allows you to work on your AA for free while in High School. All for kids banging out those core classes for nothing.
