the time i got shot at on multiple occasions by his friends in 2008 because he got his feelers hurt from the US ordering the Lebanese Gov't to cut off his phone lines at the Beirut Airport for starters

Had to either be the Syrian Mukhbarat or the Iranians…both had an axe to grind, both had the means to do it…I’d be more on the Syrian bandwagon, but I don’t put it past the Ayatollah.

Nasrallah had it coming.

2. the time he ordered the rank and file to set up a shrine to Imad Mugniyeh out in front of the entrance to the Baalbek ruins and ordered every attendee to first walk through the Mugniyeh shrine and pay a "tribute", - the shrine consisted of Mugniyeh's worldly belongings (down to his couch and television set) set up in a sort of Ikea like maze all while the Hezbollah fight song played on loop

3. his continued amassing of weapons and antagonistic rhetoric toward the Israelis that put Lebanon constantly in harm's way. Very few people in Lebanon give a fuck about the Palestinian issue (well, aside from the Palestinians I guess). Thousands of Lebanese have been killed or displaced because of his antics. A great many of them in no way affiliated with his organization.

4. fucking up the government...antagonizing the other parties within the government...and helping lead the charge on what's been a decades long deadlock. plus using his clout to get important ministers appointed, including the prick who cracked down on the pharmacies.

5. helping up the ante in the Syrian War which led to more displaced assholes flooding over the border to become "refugees" and driving up costs and causing problems.

idk. I could go on and on. that's just off the top of my head.

I mean isn't leading a terrorist organization reason enough?

That's better. Thanks. I'm a tad buzzed, now but I'll look over, refresh, and research as need be.

Don't forget the bombing of the Marine barracks in October of 82.

Fair additions. personally im just still pissed I had to pay 5 bucks for the privilege of seeing Mugniyeh’s TV set so I could go to the Temple of Bacchus and that I had to start doctor shopping around early 2015 I could previously buy just whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.

I’m not sure the Israelis even need the assistance of other nation’s intelligence apparatus. Given the precise data the Israelis obviously have regarding  the whereabouts of enemy leaders I think Mossad has comprehensively infiltrated Hezbollah. I certainly don’t mourn any of the leaders they’re killing, but think it’s a very short term strategy. Hezbollah will reconstitute, and IMO Israel is unlikely to make any large-scale incursion into southern Lebanon due to the casualties they suffered attempting to clear out Hezbollah in 2006. I know it’s not a direct parallel, but years of targeted killing of Mexican cartel leaders achieved very little. The cartels fractured but became even more violent.  I see no long-term strategy on the part of the Israelis, and from what I’ve read many in the Israeli military feel the same. I believe Bibi is prolonging and even stoking the conflict to 1) postpone the reckoning over the intelligence failures that allowed the October 7 massacre, and 2) satiate the far right wing nuts he needs to keep himself in office and avoid trial.

Hard for me to see how Bibi is better than any terrorist cleric at this point.

I agree. In my mind killing dozens of innocent people in a residential tower in order to kill the militants meeting in the basement is also a terrorist act. And to what end? Other than to demonstrate that they will always hit back harder these Israeli military efforts IMO do nothing in the long term other than create the next generation of terrorists. I read an article today about how our military leadership is coming around to the opinion that our increased military presence in the Middle East, and the assistance we’re giving in intercepting missiles, is actually encouraging and accelerating their military response in a way that wouldn’t happen if they were on their own.
