I mean, don’t you think this is kinda missing the point of his post?

Guess you need to re-read the quote, too.  All he talked about was time and cost.

O, no, you’re right. I don’t think we should expand public transportation anymore because there are direct flights from New Orleans to OKC for $221.

Questions that are not part of the quote or my response.

So your post didn’t deal with the broader questions they were discussing? Then it kinda seems like your post was irrelevant to their convo and was just some annoying, “well ACTUALLY!” Nonsense.

I thought this a thread on venting, not a transcontinental public transportation system.

My bad...

But your post doesn’t really follow the gist of the conversation re transportation issues in the US. Why bother posting that at all, unless you simply want to argue about something?

Sometimes your fact check posts—and your subsequent silly defense for making them—aren’t helpful. This was/is one of those instances.

Edit: I see Salinas made my point while I was pecking out the above sentences.

A soul crushing revelation to be sure.

You're entitled to your opinion.  Thanks for sharing.

Don’t be sour about it. Salinas characterized your post accurately calling it “well, actually.” Lots of your posts are accurate corrections, if sometimes nitpicky, but some, as in the one that has now sparked about dozen responses, are not useful within the broader conversation. You might consider owning that rather than snarkily defending a poor effort.

Well, yes and no.  People want to make an argument, go for it.  Want to use hyperbole to do so, that's when I'm going to break out the 'well, actually'.  Some people dont like it, tough shit.  I'll cop to the nitpicky part, though.  But the fact that it sparked a dozen responses is not my doing, its theirs.  Dont like it?  GD ignore it.

Being behind middle aged white people at taquerias that appear to be from California that seem like they have never had Mexican food before and have no idea what they could possibly order.

I mean, how the fuck can you grow up in CA, be in your 30s or older and somehow seem to have no basic knowledge of Mexican food? I imagine it’s the same in Texas and the rest of the southwest. Last week I was at one of my favorite spots and some white guy that was probably in his 50s was ordering as I was eating and asked if they could put “gwak-uh-mole” on his burrito. As is, he pronounced it like “whack-a-mole” but with a gwak. I mean…. What?
