They've already shown how much loyalty they have, and right after joining the ACC, they'd bail on another conference to go G5. This Frankenstein thing has a better shot by picking up some decent TX teams than the ex-Pac carpetbaggers. Who are the “carpetbaggers" in a 6-team conf w/4-West Coast Schools [66.7%] & 2-Calif Schools: Tejas schools, or 2-more Calif schools?

I have a hard time thinking this new PAC can pull teams from the East. Maybe Gonzaga plus another WCC? Anyway, the MWC departing schools had better get a damn nice raise. If they tore this conference apart for a pittance, I'll be pissed as hell. I’d bet the goal is UTSA and UNT. And if that doesn’t work, then they go back to the MWC well. That is why the MWC needs to add schools literally this week. NMSU/UTEP tomorrow. 1

Yes, they are located in large markets, but so are San Jose, Vegas, and ABQ. I’m not saying they are great moves, but WOSU seems like they REALLY want to avoid being labeled as the MWC 2.0. Otherwise, they’d just add 6 MWC schools right away to get to the minimum number of schools. 1

I'll be very surprised if UNLV is left out of this equation as well, you'd think they'd want the Vegas market. 1
SDSUfan Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Of all the realignment moves, two make the least sense; this and Cal/ Stanford playing in an unstable ACC as 2nd class citizens. 2

Carpetbaggers are folks from out of the area, taking advantage of the folks in another area. Yankee opportunists in the South during Reconstruction were the original Carpetbaggers. How does Cal-ford conf jumping make them Carpetbaggers? ---------------------------------- "Carpetbagger is a largely historical pejorative used by Southerners to describe allegedly opportunistic or disruptive Northerners who came to the Southern states after the American Civil War, and were perceived to be exploiting the local populace for their own financial, political, or social gain." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpetbagger
CougarFrog Posted September 12 Posted September 12 This will likely be like the late '00s, with the WAC v MWC vying for status, Fresno/Boise/Reno v BYU/TCU/Utah. The P-2 need to take enough of the MWC so it can't compete, like the MWC did to the WAC after Utah and BYU left.

Our forum has been suspiciously quiet as of late and a member of the QB club (our NIL/insiders) mentioned change was coming a few days ago, and I think this was just scheduled today or sometime this week. I'll try to find out
SalinasSpartan Posted September 12 Posted September 12 The guy that owns the MWC board foreshadowed this when he drove us all to a western sports message board. 1 9
