I’d bet the goal is UTSA and UNT. And if that doesn’t work, then they go back to the MWC well. 
 

That is why the MWC needs to add schools literally this week. NMSU/UTEP tomorrow.

I’m not saying they are great moves, but WOSU seems like they REALLY want to avoid being labeled as the MWC 2.0. Otherwise, they’d just add 6 MWC schools right away to get to the minimum number of schools.

We apparently have a board of regents meeting next week, so maybe we're already looking at making the jump.

I'll be very surprised if UNLV is left out of this equation as well, you'd think they'd want the Vegas market.

Carpetbaggers are folks from out of the area, taking advantage of the folks in another area.  Yankee opportunists in the South during Reconstruction were the original Carpetbaggers.

How does Cal-ford conf jumping make them Carpetbaggers?

This will likely be like the late '00s, with the WAC v MWC vying for status, Fresno/Boise/Reno v BYU/TCU/Utah.  The P-2 need to take enough of the MWC so it can't compete, like the MWC did to the WAC after Utah and BYU left.

Our forum has been suspiciously quiet as of late and a member of the QB club (our NIL/insiders) mentioned change was coming a few days ago, and I think this was just scheduled today or sometime this week. I'll try to find out

Makes you wonder how long ago this started being discussed by WOSU and the 4 schools leaving and if the MWC was already putting feelers out to the Montana schools.
