The Texas market is sooooo important !

The New Mags and Sac State would be good targets for the MW. It's a shame Texas State said no.

SDSU FB's biggest issue is a lack of NIL. Currently each player gets $2,500. However, their NIL collectives have really stepped it up and next year's will be exponentially better 

Basketball squad averaged $25 k last year on a graduating scale. Starters, seniority, etc  NIL strictly dedicated to the Basketball program will double this year then double again.

Our money sports will be just fine.

Ok? And any more earth shattering news you care to share. Probably for a school you never went to and still hanging around campus to hit on the coeds.

70-7 is the score when my school kicked the shit out of your mighty shitecs. Is that a clue? Might be the past but my school took yours to the woodshed and to grandma's that day.

Apparently, you've been sleeping in a cave since 2008.... (BTW, I'm glad the Lobos are finally getting better, though I was hoping Danny Gonzales would have been able to get the job done.)

 

New Mexico was riding relatively high during that era, coached by a fellow named Rocky Long, while the Aztecs were scuffling along at one of the lowest points in the program’s 104-year history.

The Aztecs are 9-0 against New Mexico since then, including a 35-10 road victory two years ago.

That win gave the Aztecs a 29-15 record in the all-time series.

When UNM's head coach has been someone other than Rocky Long, the Lobos are 6-28 (or 28.4%) in the series.

Despite the epic nature of this tilt, it's difficult to find (alleged) experts who will predict the outcome as opposed to whether the teams will be over or under the 67 total predicted. All (alleged) experts are picking SDSU by single digits: 3 (FoxSports), 4 (Sports Gambler), 5-6 (BetUSsTV), 7 (College Football Network) and 8 (RealGM).

Which team will be more motivated: the Aztecs before about 14K boisterous buttcheeks or the Lobos for whatever reason you wish to choose.

How UNLV, Air Force got extra $6.8 million for staying in Mountain West after Pac-12 raid

 

A few extra days of conference realignment maneuvering helped UNLV and Air Force each receive at least $6.8 million in increased commitments to stay in the Mountain West, according to documents obtained by The Athletic.

The figures come from a pair of memos of understanding best understood after a refresher on the recent round of realignment.

A Sept. 23 memo, obtained through a public records request, allotted $13.33 million for the Rebels and another $13.33 million for the Falcons if they stayed. Those payments were to be spread over six years and start “as soon as practicable.” The document earmarked $5.555 million each for Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State and Wyoming. Hawaii was due $1.12 million.

The memo was written after Utah State decided to leave for the Pac-12, when the Mountain West’s future was uncertain. UNLV and Air Force were potential realignment targets for both the Pac-12 and American Athletic Conference, making their commitments to stay on Sept. 26 especially valuable.

When the Mountain West and its members actually executed an agreement after a few more days of uncertainty and speculation about those schools’ futures, the terms changed. UNLV and Air Force will each receive 24.5 percent of the first exit-fee bucket ($61 million). That’s $14.945 million apiece — already an increase from the earlier proposal. A separate $21 million bucket is split with the same percentages. That brings each school’s payout to $20.09 million, an increase of $6.8 million from the original $13.33 million as stated on Sept. 23.

More revenue is possible, too, depending on how much the conference spends on legal fees and recruiting new members. UTEP is joining, and Hawaii has grown from a football-only school to a full member. The Athletic has reported that the total incentives for UNLV and Air Force could reach $25 million.

Other schools’ payouts also rose in the second agreement once Utah State’s exit fees were spelled out. The two buckets are set to pay Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State and Wyoming $9.43 million each.
