It makes the job searches more frustrating, but I've ended up kinda like those old guys who still know how to code in COBOL. I'm leading product for an ITSec startup right now, but before that I was an operations consultant for a F500 pharma, ran global support for a Google product that I guarantee you everyone here has used, and a whole host of other things. I've worked a weird career, but I couldn't imagine doing anything else even with how frustrating it can be at times. What got you to move out of it?

I loved my work, but was losing PTO days every pay period and got to a point where if I didn't make a change, I'd die of heat attack or stroke.

I miss COBOL, but it’s been 12,13 years now since I worked in it. Unless things go south at FedEx, I’ve probably worked my last program.
